#1 just got fed again. #2 isn't able to get upright yet. It keeps flopping over.

  • #422
poor little number two hasn't figured out how to stay upright on its talons yet.

The kids are enthralled. They are outdoors enjoying this beautiful weather we are having but anytime I see activity in the next I simply have to throw open the door, hollar "EAGLES!" and they come a running to get a glimpse of the lil eaglets.

This has been so fun. Thanks again Peeples for bringing this to my attention by starting this thread. Fun and educational. The power of the internet used for good :)

Aweeee, I just logged on for the first time today to see a feeding! I love it!! My kids have been watching all morning and woke me up to tell me the second one had hatched. Love it!

Is it really that warm?? I'm near Madison, WI and it's only in the 40s, really windy and rainy. Yuck.

Ok - I just can't resist. Let's see - its 82 here. Cloudless beautiful blue sky, breeze at about 8 - 10 mph. Absolutely gorgeous! Sorry.

But then again we got hurricane season coming up soon - soooo. This time of year here in South Florida is just wonderful. Every place has its "times" and this time of year - this is the place to be!

Sorry for the O/T.

That looks like a fish she's feeding from now.

ETA - nope its a bird. maybe a blackbird? Camera just zoomed it and showed its beak.
And the second chick is now eating. This is just so fascinating!!!

Has #2 eaten at all? I worry about him/her.

  • #431
Is that a dead bird laying there?

  • #432
She's trying to get food to #2 now!

Dad was just feeding both babies. The first one took a short nap after eating. LOL
I finally saw the second one eating.

It looked like he was feeding them fish. I also saw a small dead black bird at the edge of the nest too. I guess they're done dining on rabbit.

Dad ate some fish and then moved to the other side of the nest. He was standing on Mom's tail feathers before he took flight. I don't think she was thrilled with that. LOL

Sort of sick humor I know......but I keep wondering what we would all do if a car drove up and pulled a dead body out of the back and dumped it off the side of that road down there!!!! Such a little web sleuths irony that would be!!!

I also keep thinking we should feel sorry for the baby bunnies and fish that are now orphans due to the eagle's food!!

it's gorgeous today kids are in shorts and outside playing

Lots of bird sounds-- I thought for sure I heard some other babies as well. Perhaps there's more nests in that tree? (songbird?)

I don't have the page with all the information on it-- can someone tall me what type of eagle they are? tia

eta: ah, I got it-- Bald Eagles. :)

yes....also the Q and A section below the video screen has a GREAT slideshow of the installation of the cameras. It shows the farm and area around the nest.....it is actually quite close to the outbuildings there!

Somehow, I'm on the page that doesn't scroll and have information. I have a black background, and a bar on the side with other bird cams. :dunno:
