BONES, SKEPTICISM & CASEY ANTHONY
The creator of the popular Bones books and TV series KATHY REICHS is being called to offer expert testimony for the defense in the sensational trial of accused murder mom CASEY ANTHONY!.

Forensics anthropologist and best selling author Kathy Reichs is among the expert witnesses named by Anthony's defense team.

Reich's series of Bones book is the basis for the hit Fox series and she's also an exec producer of the show that stars David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel.

Meanwhile, Anthony attorney Cheney Mason told WESH-TV Orlando that the defense team had 15 to 20 volunteers who say they didn't see the toddler's remains "exactly on the spot" where they later were found.

This allegation seems to back up defense contention that someone else dumped the child's remains in the woods after Anthony was jailed.

Mason says the Anthony defense team will present a full list of witnesses Friday.

Casey, who is accused of murdering her daughter Caylee, remains in police custody under lock-up. The sensational murder trial is docketed to begin in May.

I wonder how many of those 15 to 20 witnesses will turn out to be mistaken, misquoted, coerced, mentally unstable, or out right lying. Kind of like the defenses other star witnesses.

That's the huge elephant in the room with the defenses obsessive fixation on when the area was searched. Walking ground searches are extremely inefficient. Any trained skilled searcher can expertly tell the court that failure to find something doing a walking ground search on rough ground does not mean that it is not there. It only means that it was not found. The only way to rule out whether or not the object is or was there is to find it someplace else.

And this assumes an organized line of searchers. People randomly searching in the woods are relying on pure luck to find anything.

If it is not ordered by defense it does not have to be released to the public. So if defense went to the depos they don't need to order a copy. I think that is how it works.

Any person on any list who gets a subpoena can file a Motion to Quash the Subpoena, if they think they have solid grounds to show that they have no information that would be relevant to the case.

The defense will be lucky if the TES searchers detailing how they may have felt manipulated doesn't result in another investigation against their PI, o r worse yet a bar complaint.

This is going to be a disaster of biblical proportions if the testimony turns to this. They better keep the questions very narrowly focused if they know what is good for them.

If they (Mallory and Mark) are being held back it was done back in 08. The interviews should have been released by the SAO like the others. The first and third LE/CA interviews, and have copies of, we have seen. The SAO gives a copy to the defense and they have a certain amount of days to advise the SAO of objections to the release. I think it is something like 10 or 14 days. Which is apparently what JB did.

The depos have to be asked for. Not sure the defense has to review first. This is my understanding how the procedure works. Correct me if I am wrong, as I have been mistaken in the past :innocent:

Prosecutors Question New Witnesses Under Oath Thursday

Kevin and Lisa Galloway, a husband and wife who searched with Texas EquuSearch on all-terrain vehicles within a few feet of where Caylee Anthony's remains were later found.
"We were probably the closest to her of anyone on the search," said Lisa Galloway.
The Galloways told WESH 2 News on Thursday that the area where the remains were later found was under waist-deep water in September 2008. From what they saw, they said they believe Caylee Anthony's remains were present and submerged.
"Do you think there was any way it was dry enough for someone to move the remains after Casey was locked up on Oct. 14?" asked WESH 2 reporter Bob Kealing.
"We went in there three times and that water was deep," said Kevin Galloway.
Another witness that testified on Thursday, Melinda White, told WESH 2 news she never searched the exact area where the remains were found.

Well, with these ill fated witnesses the defense lined up, I wonder if Cheney and Jose would be foolish enough to put Casey on the stand. It seems there is no limit to their _____________________. At one time, Mason said there was not a chance in hell he would call her to the stand, but he has said and done a lot since this quote.
If the case did get to a jury, Pipitone asked Mason if he thought her attorneys would put her on the stand.

"Knowing what I know at this time, there's not a snowball's chance you know where I put her on the witness stand," Mason said.
"Why is that?" Pipitone said.

"Well, because there's so much to cross-examine her about," Mason said.

"Do you just say, 'The defense rests.' Don't even put on a defense?" Pipitone asked.

"There's a good chance that would be the case," Mason said.
