"Powell, 45, was charged for her alleged involvement in the crimes
that took place between 2018 and 2023,
the Contra Costa District Attorney's Office announced.

Powell knew Bhagwagar was sexually abusing her child,
and even watched and participated in the alleged sex crimes, according to court documents.

According to prosecutors,
the alleged abuse started when the girl was just six
and went on until she was 11,
which was around the time Powell and Bhagwagar split."

Obviously it happened behind closed doors. What shocks me is the mother allowing and participating in these evil acts.

Actually, LE chose the best place and time to detain the alleged child predator, right after landing + in the cockpit, as it's important to apprehend him with surprise, speed, and minimum risk for public. Plus, no way to escape for him and minimum confrontation risk for LE.

Wouldn’t arresting him OFF the plane be safer? As abhorrent as child is, it’s not a violent crime.

I must admit what disgusts me more is that a mother would not only allow her child to be molested but would join in, too. I just have to shake my head. I looked for her Facebook page yesterday and believe that I found two under her 'maiden" name (not Powell). The one that she had with loads of photos of a little girl has since been deleted. This one still remains although there really isn't much on it. I feel certain that her family (who has a family business) is shocked and disgusted. It also says a lot that her child was not living with her. Log into Facebook

The pilot was interested in the young girl not the mother, IMO. For all we know, he broke it off with her when the girl aged out of his preference age. This poor child will be affected for the rest of her life. Hopefully, she is in counseling. For all we know, she revealed the abuse to a counselor.
