Last verified contact was approximately 1 year ago.Sheriff’s officials say their investigation began on Tuesday, Oct. 14, when a school administrator reported that 9-year-old Melodee Buzzard had been absent for a prolonged period of time.
Deputies reportedly tried to contact Melodee and her mother, Ashlee Buzzard, at their home in the 500 block of Mars Avenue but the child was not there, and sheriff’s officials say there was no clear explanation provided for her whereabouts.

I saw that, wondering why the school took so long to report their concerns to LE? If mom sent Melodee to live elsewhere, it would have been an easy misunderstanding to clear up with LE, but evidently that didn’t happen. Super sus …Last verified contact was approximately 1 year ago.
Hint - search her name on FB, that question is answered.what an angel
please let her be with relatives
I wonder who her Dad is and why he wasn't looking for her
It doesn’t seem like it is a new school though
If she hasn’t been seen since last year I am wondering what they are defining in a year. Last school year or 2024?
For now Im holding the school accountable for Not reporting this sooner
If it was last school year - why is it just now getting reported?
If it was 2024 why wasn’t it reported last year?
I wonder if some kind of medical excuse was provided that hushed the school but then they got suspicious?
JMO, but I think we might learn that Melodee was home schooled at some point.
Hopefully we hear these details soon.Could explain a lot but I’m curious as to when homeschooling would have stopped and the school felt a need to report since she never attended again.
