''Rigg, the daughter of a railway engineer and a homemaker, said she vowed to be an actress at 12. "It was a wild hope, coming from a Yorkshire family with no theatrical talent," she admitted. But she was fiercely ambitious and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. Years later, she was made a dame commander of the Order of the British Empire and never stopped working.''

So sad. I am and always will be a fan. I loved her
in The Avengers and also in Dr Who . Her daughter
Rachael also starred in Dr Who playing her characters'
daughter.

Diana Rigg was so cool in The Avengers. I was in middle school at the time that show was on tv and I wished I could be as cool as she.

And she was the best bada$$ ever in Game of Thrones. What a great career!

Rest in Peace, Dame Rigg.

When the Avengers came out in the 1960's all us teen age boys were in love with Diana .

But she was much more than a good looking gal , she loved the acting profession and was devoted to it , and whenever interviewed she gave more credit to those around her than to herself.

If the link works here is an excellent interview from a couple of years ago , I think she was in her 70's by then , wonderful person.
