I spent many years of my childhood propped in front of the TV watching American Bandstand, playing $10,000 Pyramid (also $20,000 pyramid) along with Dick and ringing in New Year after New Year with him...

Rest in peace Mr. Clark... having grown up with you I know that you have enriched my life along with many, many others.

It just got reported on CNN in the last minute or so. I wondered why they didn't have a report.

Wow. There are these disabled twins who adore him and live for his New Years' broadcasts. I wonder how they will handle this. They did not handle his stroke well. http://jezebel.com/5243027/twin-savants-fixated-on-dick-clark

Sad to see him go. He is an icon!

Gitana, those twins were my first thought when I heard about Dick Clark. I saw them on a documentary a while back and Dick Clark is truly a huge part of their world and they have memorized almost everything about him.

This is so sad. New Years Eve won't be the same without watching him. May he rest in peace.

Good grief, I remember when Bandstand started. We lived across the puddle from Philly on the Jersey side. Lots of kids from school when over there to get on the show. Big fights in our house because Mickey Mouse Club was on close to the same time. Mickey lost and I ended up learning how to dance with the teens in our house. Slow dancing with your big brother was YUK.
Love you, Dick, you will never be forgotten.

Just such sad news...and to not hear that wonderful voice again. He seemed like a genuine & kind man, fame didn't seem to ever go to his head. (a Jimmy Stewart kind of guy!)
What wonderful music he introduced us to.

I loved his indomitable spirit, he was totally positive! Even after his stroke, he fought hard to conquer the slurring speech effects of the stroke and had really improved the past few years. I loved American Bandstand and loved him! He was the eternal teenager...he can't be gone!

R.I.P. Mr. Clark.
Memories of dancing to the songs, watching what everyone wore and how the others danced. Top 40's and American Bandstand was the greatest!

Bloopers
The man that never ages

Things that Dick Clark made amazing!

Put that in the form of the pyramid :)

yes i've been thinking about the twins all day! i hope they had become more prepared for this day than they were at the time of the documentary. i have thought of them often since the film and wondered how they were doing-i hope we find out, altho i know right now they are probably devastated. RIP Dick Clark.

This is very sad. I loved Bandstand and loved watching him on the NY Eve show.

Dick Clark sure made this world a happier place didn't he? I can't think of a time when I wasn't smiling while watching his shows or listening to the American top 40.

Yet he continued making me smile while dealing with heart disease, a stroke, and diabetes since 2004. What an amazing man, and what a legacy!
