Did JR do it?

I have never believed Burke had anything to do with it, ever. But you know...doesn't Kolar believe Burke may have done it? I want to buy that book and read for myself.
I think this family was very dysfunctional but hid it very well from their friends. In private, though...I am starting to think anything is possible with their family dynamics.

I just don't know why the R's killed their daughter. I have always believed John did it because of the molestation, and being afraid Jonbenet would tell, but WHY would Patsy cover for him? It doesn't make sense.

A theory I read on here recently 'seems' to make the most current sense to me. Patsy accidentally killed her, and John, afraid the molestation would be found out, staged the crime scene.

Maybe Jonbenet was being punished for soiling herself by BOTH parents. Maybe one told the other to spank her, the other complied, and Jonbenet accidentally hit her head. Both of them would be responsible, therefore, they worked together to cover it up.

I just don't know. I do believe that this family knows ALOT.
Because of the public scandal that would have ensued. She was a stand-by-your-man kinda gal. It was easier to concoct a ransom note than to call 911 for help for her dying daughter.

From a 1997 Rocky Mountain News article:

Also on Friday, Boulder police released copies of the autopsy report for Elizabeth Ramsey, John Ramsey's daughter by his first marriage who was killed near Chicago in a weather-related car crash Jan. 8, 1992.

Boulder detectives obtained a copy of that report last month and have been examining the girl's past for clues.

The Rocky Mountain News reported Friday that detectives have interviewed at least two women who were sorority sisters of Elizabeth Ramsey's during her time at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

What about Elizabeth Ramsey? I read on some sites rumors that JR had ritually abused her but I could find no confirmation of that outside of some conspiracy web sites. Surely if anything like that had come to light then it would be in all the tabloids. I also heard that she recovered some childhood memories about the abuse and was starting to talk about it and so JR had her killed to silence her, kind of like the way he may have had JB killed to silence her. In any case I am starting to believe that JR is the iceman in terms of doing completely ruthless acts while showing no normal emotions about it. Some people can hide who they really are so nobody would ever suspect he would be capable of it. My feeling is that JB was a loose end that JR could not allow to continue to threaten everything he worked for. He silenced her forever on 12-26-96. This man is a monster. Linda arndt's intuition about him was correct.

Either that, or, and I'm spitballing on this one, JR saw what PR had done and saw an opportunity. Even better, in fact, because he had PR as a scapegoat for a lot of things. I wrote a thread a while back (IF it's still around) called "No Honor Among Thieves" that addressed this idea.

I thought Patsy and John both kind of threw each under the bus at times during their questioning. It wasn't very noticeable, but I still wondered if it was intentional. It's too bad Linda Arndt got afraid of John instead of immediately asking him who did this. He might have talked.

ITA.

When, imo, PR went rogue and called 911 before JB’s body was removed, it seems to me she was also letting JR know she had some power in the dialectic of this monstrous event. It may have been one of the reasons he came across so angry in the dialogue after the phone was supposed to have been hung up. Further, if JR and PR had been arguing, and LA saw him as menacing, a mother might be looking at having folks around for both her and BR’s safety.

Then for added precaution JR has Dr. B bring over massive meds, so PR can’t even go to the bathroom on her own, let alone be interviewed by the BPD. JR really did not want PR to speak to authorities early in the investigation. The seeming squelching of PR’s voice has always led me back to the initial involvement of the adults in this crime. moo
