The article with the boy scout camp quote was published Saturday 05 June.

If the press talked to CM on Friday or early Saturday morning I suppose both accounts could have been true if the boy was camping with dad Friday evening to Saturday morning and hadn't yet arrived at Terri and Kaine's home when they spoke about it.

TMH protecting the other son by deflecting the media, sure. That's one thing.

However, I do think it bears consideration-- why would TMH add or layer on she would "have a hard time telling him" to this statement... it does lean more towards dramatization/fabrication to me v. protection.

And was this after the report of the person who was on the phone with the minor that week and overheard TMH react strongly to his noting her polygraph? Perhaps extreme... but could it be she was trying to spin another realty to discount the minor's comments that leaked out into the media?

I imagine that it would be difficult to tell a sibling that their brother or sister has disappeared and they do not know where they are. How is that dramatization?

To what nefarious purposes would someone lie like this? I agree that it is not likely to be an error, but I do think it was to protect him from the spotlight. I am not sure what it could have been other than an innocent lie to keep the media off him for the short-term, or to keep people from wagging their tongues about him. I am open to other reasons - I just can't see any myself.

I agree with you 100%, especially regarding the protection of the older son, but still Kyron's missing and every single lie told only hinders the investigation.

Something to think about, though... If J went back to his dad after 4 days to get him out of the media circus, why was his baby sister still there? Terri's mom has been staying with Terri to help her with the baby, as well as to be a shoulder to lean on I take it. Well if he was sent back to protect him, why keep the baby there? Surely the media with all their heavy equipment & cameras scare her more than it would scare her older teenage brother. This bothers me so much. Sometimes the media doesn't take into consideration the damage & fright it could instill into young children's minds, but still the point stands. J left after 4 days & K stayed put.
