I am just like you about leaving my kiddos. I only left them with a sitter maybe 3 times and that was after I got to know the sitter for 5 years and they were 10 and 8. Before that I let my mom watch them twice and I had a hard time relaxing. My mom wants to keep them overnight, she's always asking if I would let them and I just can't. Maybe when they are 18 and 16!! The idea of leaving a 3 year old and twin 2 year olds alone is absolutely out of the question. Not because I would worry about an abduction but I would worry about knives, sockets, stairs, water, stoves, cords, etc. I couldn't leave them with a sitter either. They are too vulnerable at that age. My strongest instinct is to keep my kiddos from being scared. The idea of them crying for me, alone, in the dark, makes me physically ill.
I actually believe that Kate McCann has more of that same instinct than she tells us. She had to behave as if they believed the kids were completely safe in order to weave their alibi. I wonder if the kids were never left alone at all. I have heard that one of the T9 would stay with the kids while the others went out. I have heard that all the kids may have been in one apartment. I have heard that the twins were elsewhere when Kate raised the alarm and were brought back to the apartment once the search began. Their attitude and behavior tells me that they know that Maddie was never in danger, because she was dead. That very first press briefing showed grief for what had happened to Maddie and the "appeal" to the kidnapper showed Kate's anger with Gerry and what he was forcing her to do. After a week they had resigned themselves to their predicament and they had assumed their roles. They were not able to fake the necessary behavior that would indicate Maddie might have been kidnapped and suffering unspeakable horrors because she wasn't. There is some sociopathic behavior that was displayed, mildly in Kate, more pronounced in Gerry, especially in their refusal to accept responsibility for what had happened. But they couldn't do that, could they? They had to behave as if they were completely innocent in Maddie's predicament. Kate is not a very good actress and Gerry does not feel guilt, at all. I think they went to see the Pope because they felt they could receive absolution, even without actually voicing what they had done. They really changed after that trip, they visibly relaxed. The smiles came easier.
Once the PJ started to doubt the "story" and after Eddie and Keela came, they got scared. I could see it, especially in Kate. Gerry acted like he was untouchable. Probably due to high-powered friends that had vowed to back him and possibly because he had "dirt" on someone which made him feel invincible. Plus, sociopaths think everyone else is stupid. Didn't you get (and are still getting) the feeling that they think we are stupid? So much of what they have said has been such an insult to our intelligence.
Anyway, all of that is simply my opinion, my gut instinct. Only time will tell and with all the prayers that are said for Maddie, it is just a matter of time before the truth comes out. I believe that with my whole heart.
Like Caylee, I just want Madeleine Found so she can be properly laid to rest, that is first and foremost AND THEN I want whoever did this brought to justice.

I suppose I should try and stay focused one one thing at a time but I am so spread between injustices in foster/adoption land (what I blog about) and then Caylee and Darlie Routier and Madeleine
There are so many crimes that I want to dedicate myself to... I end up just posting a bit here and there !
Ive talked about Madelienes case for a long time because I have truly believed that her parents did this to her. Not that they murdered her in cold blood but through their wanting to have a good time they killed her. Either by too much sedation and lets face it this is so very plausible - they are both doctors.
Or by sedation and accident....
Rather than lose their licenses for illegally dosing their child and thus resulting in death they made up this facade and had her dumped somewhere.
What I want to know is as per what they wrote here on their site (as in McCanns site)
As you may have seen in the media, the Portuguese authorities have lifted our ‘arguido’ status and in July 2008 closed the investigation to find Madeleine. It is therefore even more important now that we, Madeleine's family, do everything we possibly can to try and find our little girl.
How long are they going to keep up this facade of looking for Madeleine ?

Seems to me if Jane Tanner is the one that said she *saw a man carrying a child" She either A) saw Gerry or B) she is lying and knows what happened

How much more fake can it sound ? putting it on ? Why would you say "they've taken her" you wouldn't - you would say OMG Madeleine is missing , shes gone , shes not in her room

As a side note...I'm probably way at the other end of the scale...of things ...due to being adopted...I co sleep with my babies until I feel they are ready to be on their own, I have never left them at night My daughter was born the same year as Maddie.
We take them with us everywhere...or we don't go...and we have missed a lot of things because I won't break their routine (when they are babies)
I look at it that its like what ? 3-4 years per child out of my life that I have to sacrifice to ensure their security, their ease , their knowing they are safe and loved .........
I cop flack from people ALL the time... But I have the most secure daughter, she goes to bed, she never wakes up during the night (unless she is ill) and she is happy and content
and my son will be the same.
I don't condemn others for leaving their child with a babysitter etc , but for some reason everyone likes to have a go at me...!!!
I do however condem people like the McCanns who LEAVE their child ALONE for any period of time.
To go back to another point, the Hotel villa place , with the bar that I found online for you guys what is the relevance of that place ?
And are the people in that bar photo any of the Tapas 9
