I want to get caught up on this topic, but don't want to poke my nose in until I've caught up. (e.g. where is this public spreadsheet?)

Since two of my interests are genealogy and Websleuths, this is in my sweet spot. I just haven't had time to invest over the past couple of years.
Thank you to everyone here. How wonderful that these cases are being solved!

The link to the spreadsheet is in their pinned Facebook post. It should be the first link IIRC and it's near the top.

Delete if needed. I have it saved into my google drive.
DNA Doe Project Public Cases.xlsx

Just FYI they updated the format to include tabs to organize it. They seem to have done that due to the number of cases that they are working on.

Next update is Nov. 11th

I think Joan mentioned that in the end of October she is going to St Louis, Missouri to give sessions on Investigative Genetic Genealogy.

But I think there should be more announcements by the end of the year, I think there are always announcements in December.

Correct, djanga and doggybag2355: I will be on the road presenting an all day class at the "Missing in Missouri" conference, then on to Iowa to be the speaker at the Iowa Coroners Association Banquet, plus a few more law enforcement stops along the way. In addition to my volunteer work at the DNADoeProject, I am also the investigative genetic genealogist for UnitedDataConnect.com.

Just a reminder. . .no case can be announced until law enforcement confirms the investigative lead, family is notified, a determination is made whether the identification triggers more insight into the cause of death and the involvement of others, and most importantly, law enforcement approves the announcement.

Gacy Victim Five - DNA Doe Project Cases

Victim 5 has been positively identified as Francis Alexander.
I hope they’ll use the DDP to help identify more of Gacy’s victims.

Actually that seems to be the case

The whole press conference is well worth a watch; both the sheriff's office and DDP did a great job at explaining the processes related to genetic genealogy in a clear and easy to understand manner.

There's a typo of Alexander's last name on the DDP page about the solve, if anyone wants to mention to them:

Gacy Victim Five - DNA Doe Project Cases

"unnamed victim of the executed sexual predator and serial killer John Wayne Gacy as Francis Wayne **AlexandDiscovered** on December 26, 1978, at the Norwood Park residence of his killer,"

I have just warched the intetview with Kevin Lord who led the Alexander’s case, so I think he probably was a team leader for the case, he said that so far the DDP identified 70 Jane and John Does.

Also it took the DDP team 8 hours to identify Alexander, that was fast! Congratulations, team!

I leave the link here, it is a great interview:

Actually, Cairenn Binder was a team leader for Alexander’s case. She was on the press conference as well. She is also a team lead for Apache Junction JD, I really hope they had new leads for this case as well.

Small update to the Facebook post yesterday, but I think it was just to add Gacy Victim 5 to the solved category.

Right, just Mercer Island John Doe is missing from the pending list, but I think may be he is in early stages and needs fundings. Also the number of announced cases is updated: 47. We also know that for 3 more cases Namus pages were removed and the identity of Hudson JD was announced on ISHI conference.

IIRC he was already in the research phase
