Is there a way for us to know if our own uploaded info has contributed to the identification of any of the Does? I’m incredibly uneducated when it comes to all of that. I just know I uploaded and opted in! From there, I’ve not done anything with my results. It’s probably a very silly question, but I’ve just wondered if I could be one of their ‘matches’ and if so, would I ever even know about it?

No, there isn’t since they don’t run individual kits any longer.

Some updates y'all.
Peoria County John Doe has been identified. There will be a press conference later today.
Nation River Lady is now an active case. This is their first case from Canada.
Barron County John Doe from 2017 is now in bioinformatics.

Lime Lady is their first and only case from Oklahoma.
I'm interested if the authorities want to forward any other cases like their colleagues in Michigan did after Marcia Bateman's identification.
Bateman herself was from Oklahoma City!
Oklahoma County currently has 31 decedents on NamUs, almost all from Oklahoma City.

Interesting that the Phoenix Jane Doe 2004 genealogy work was complete within hours, but the LE confirmation took months to finally close out. Same with Tamara Tigard.

I wonder if this is the case as well with a few of their other cases with mid to high cM matches (Harper Jane Doe, Kern County Jane Doe, Pulaski County Jane Doe, etc.).

I hope they identify Harper Jane Doe soon. Her case is a homicide and she was a mother it seems.
Her sketch reminds me of Serbian singer Slađana Milošević (whose real name is Aleksandra), particularly this video of her:

@ntt1 Not too long ago, I was looking for updates on John Clinton Doe (aka Rock County John Doe), who DNA Doe Project identified in Feb 2019. An article from Aug 2019 mentioned that as far as LE is concerned, the investigation into his identity is still ongoing. They need to conduct their own independent investigation.

I'm *guessing* what usually happens is LE uses the matches from DDP as supporting evidence and tries to line up the match with other evidence (claims of relatives; documentation from family like old photos, birth certificates, etc). If everything lines up, they feel confident to officially claim someone is a match. I can imagine there are numerous scenarios where this would take a very long time. It has been long-rumored that Rock County John Doe was from a foster home. If true, this could make identification virtually impossible at this time. MOO.

So just because DDP makes an identification claim, does not automatically mean that LE instantly closes a case.

Honestly, I think it's good. If you are going to announce an identity, you want to make sure beyond any doubt whatsoever that that person is who you think they are.

From what I remember, DDP gave them a match and are standing by it but LE is conducting additional investigations before releasing his identity. They may not even release his identity, since he isn’t a homicide victim.

I hope it's okay to ask this here, and if not, I'll delete, but I was just wondering if there was any discussion behind the scenes at DDP about taking on the Newton County John Does case? The two victims, "Adam" and "Brad," were murdered by Larry Eyler and probably hitchhiking, which has made their cases difficult to solve.

These Does are two of the cases that haunt me the most because my dad was nearly abducted by Eyler back in the '80s. But, by a stroke of luck and sheer coincidence, he's here, and I'm here. Adam and Brad are not, and that just kills me inside. I think I owe it to them to fight for their names back.

Not that I know of. Margaret says that you should contact the PD who is in charge of these cases and recommend DDP.

Jasper County John Doe is also a victim of Eyler. They haven't had any cases from Indiana.
If your dad is alive, give him a hug.
I find it very important to cherish loved ones. Evading a grisly fate nails down the importance of such love.
Dean Corll's last intended victim had a very difficult life coping with the aftermath of his horrific experience.
