I thought it was the NCMEC at first, but it’s missing their watermark, I wonder if it’s Catyana Falsetti, it looks similar to the Grant County John Doe now that I look at it
It can also be of Samantha Steinberg.

I'm not sure if this case has been brought up before, but I'd like to take "the stand" for a moment.

Little Miss Lake Panasoffkee Jane Doe has been unidentified for 50 years this year.
She was found by two hitchhikers on February 19, 1971, in Lake Panasoffkee, FL. She was strangled with a men's size 36 belt and probably dumped off the bridge. She was 17-24 and may have come from Greece. She showed signs of 1 or 2 previous pregnancies. Isotope testing has indicated she ventured to the US 10-12 months before she died and Florida around 2 months prior. A nearby Epiphany festival was held in January of '71. She had a surgery done in '67-'70 called the "Watson-Jones" to reconstruct her ankle. I hope that she is eligible for DDP or another group (e.g. Othram).

Best you can do is contact the investigating officer per NamUs or Doe Network and suggest those companies, and hopefully they'll contact them.

I contacted the SCSO on FB about DDP.

I'd try over the phone or email if possible, just so there's as little chance of it getting overlooked as possible.
I'll shoot an email, thanks.

This might be a really dumb idea, but I almost want to compile a list of agencies that only have 1 - 2 cases to contact and try to suggest a genealogy company to, as I feel like they may not even be aware of them, and aren't as busy as larger counties with dozens of cases like many in New York or Florida.

According to a ntts’s comment on the dedicated thread there is a development in Gregg co Jane Doe case, as for the beginning of March 2021 she has not been identified. “she likely has family in the Mount Airy area of Surry County, South Carolina, and that the surnames Bowman, Jessup and Gray could be related to her”

Washoe County, Nevada has like 26 cases on NamUs. Mary Silvani was found in that county so I'm puzzled why they haven't approached them for more cases.

Same with San Mateo County in California, every time I've tried larger agencies they've almost seemed annoyed that I called them, but when I tried Morrill County in Nebraska, he didn't even know that the project existed and seemed interested.

West Virginia is another state that I keep hoping they might pick up some cases from - there aren't too many Does listed on Doe Network from there either, only Wetzel County Jane Doe (1983), Morgan County/Berkeley Springs Jane Doe (1950) and Greenbrier County, West Virginia (2001) for Jane Does.

Try shooting an email to them or calling them and see if they're interested!

I’d never thought of an agency not knowing options like these exist. I tend to forget not everyone has their nose buried in WS daily :D. I guess it makes sense there would be more who aren’t familiar.

Update: Redondo Jane Doe is now an active case, all the pending cases are now at lab for sequencing

Ah good, that one was in sequencing for a really long time.

Yes, I hope Johnson co “Mr X” will pass from sequencing to active too
Same. I’ve been anxiously waiting for him to progress!

There is a YouTuber named Mysterious WV who does videos on unsolved cases and has made a video on all the Does you listed iirc. He often talks to the LE while researching. I found a comment on a video for Wetzel County Jane Doe where he says they have suggested DNA and isotope testing to them. This was a few years ago, though.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder if these new reconstructions were made by the FBI.

I might try to reach out to more Idaho agencies, as Idaho doesn't have a lot of cases, and they've already had success with the DDP with Clark County. Most of their agencies seem small so they may be interested in support.
