Hi! Anyone know if the genealogy of the perps DNA is being looked at...
Similar to how they caught the Golden State Killer ??

My understanding, MO, is that the quality and quantity of the DNA is not enough to do that. This is a red herring being floated by the Ramseys.

It has been well known for many years that the DNA was only "trace", (nothing like the semen the Golden State Killer left at the scenes of his crimes), but the Ramseys continue to claim that this DNA has exonerated them.

I've heard that what they found was partial, degraded, possibly transfer or touch DNA, maybe only from a sneeze by a factory worker. I've read that it was speculated that the fingernail DNA was from unsterilized clippers used at autopsy.

Even Lou Smit said that it was male, so could not rule out JR, but did not rule him in, either! It was incomplete DNA.

What is never pointed out is that of course, all the identifiable DNA did belong to the Ramseys, since it was their home. Why wouldn't it?

Another investigator has said (paraphrasing), that evidence, as well as the 'absence of evidence', is all evidence. Why is it that the only identifiable DNA belongs to the Ramseys?

Thanks for your response. I recently saw yet another follow up on the case that said the DNA was male and did not match Jon or Burt. But it didn't mention what type of DNA...

I have hope that genetic genealogy will blow the case wide open.

I was literally talking about this, this morning. They have plenty of money, so even if the investigators don't want to put money into it, the family easily could. I watch John Andrews interview with Dr. Oz and he mentions DNA testing but not the genealogy. I hope they do it.
