Do You Still Believe UFO's Are Fake? Take a Look

UFOs regularly spotted in restricted U.S. airspace, report on the phenomena due next month

[We have tackled many strange stories on 60 Minutes, but perhaps none like this. It's the story of the U.S. government's grudging acknowledgment of unidentified aerial phenomena— UAP—more commonly known as UFOs. After decades of public denial the Pentagon now admits there's something out there, and the U.S. Senate wants to know what it is. The intelligence committee has ordered the director of national intelligence and the secretary of defense to deliver a report on the mysterious sightings by next month.]

That was truly fascinating, thank you for sharing!

I hope that report on the phenomena is made public, I would love to discover the origin of these UAP's

Based on the true story of the Kecksburg Incident, the movie made in 2019, "The Vast of Night" is a chilling fictional account.

I've read quite a bit about the Kecksburg Incident and it is fascinating to read accounts from witnesses in 1965.

WTAE-TV Pittsburgh

"An unidentified flying object was reported on Dec. 9, 1965. The fireball landed in the woods in the Kecksburg area of Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County. It was only a meteor, according to the U.S. government."

Kecksburg UFO - Unsolved Mysteries Excerpt:
"A call went out to all the local fire departments and more than 30 volunteer firemen were dispatched from the Kecksburg station. Volunteer fireman, James Romansky, was with a search team that actually found the crash site:"

“Here was this humongous metal object, half buried in the ground. About six, seven, eight foot around, and it was every bit of eight, ten, twelve foot long.

And to me the object looked like exactly like a fresh acorn that you’d pick off of a tree. There was no wings, there was no motors. There was no propellers. There was no identification whatsoever that would identify it as a aircraft that I would know.

There was a bumper on the bottom part of it. On that bumper there was what I call, it looked to me like the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics. It was markings like stars, and shapes and figures and circles, and lines, and what it was, I don’t know.

To this day I’ve never seen anything like it. So we’re all standing around this thing, wondering what in the heck it could be, and finally here come two men down through the woods. And they took one look at the object, and immediately told us to leave. ‘We are in charge, we’re taking command, get out of here.’ So we left there, and by the time we got back down here to the fire hall, I mean, this place was wall to wall military.”

When I watched the videos on the following History.com site, it made me wonder how many sightings there have been over the years that we've never heard about.

The 5 Most Credible Modern UFO Sightings

This Air Force Jet Was Scrambled to Intercept a UFO—Then Disappeared
I think there a LOTS of sightings that are not reported. It can be detrimental to an airline pilot's career to make such a report. But the recently released video of the US Navy pilots out over the Atlantic encountering those UFOs is very compelling to me. These were well trained and experienced pilots and they clearly had no idea what they were encountering. Amazing.

Would anyone here happen to know the source of this news clip on Travis Walton and his alleged extraterrestrial abduction in AZ back in 1975? TIA

Not a pilot but even ordinary people - I think you are correct many sightings are not reported - I shared a UFO sighting with a neighbor in Oct or Nov 2015 and had no clue who to report it to, it was so surreal that it took my brain a long time to compute.

Our sighting made me wonder if and how UFO sightings and the loss of a loved one are related. We lived in a condo apartment building in Mississauga Ontario Canada, her condo was on the opposite end of the hall, I was at the other end, we both faced the same direction. Small world, this lady and I had worked together for a charter airline 10 years earlier and occasionally bumped into one another when we left for work in the am. We were on the 25th floor and the condo building has floor-to-ceiling windows on all outside walls, at the elevators we had a large floor to the ceiling window area that we could see most of the city clear to Toronto.

It was a low cloud dark day, no sunlight making it through a solid layer of clouds, and when I looked out the window I noticed two very very very large grey rectangular platforms hovering under the clouds over Lake Ontario, if they were moving it was very slow but it looked as if they were floating. The lake was about 10km away and these two "sheets" looked to be the size of football fields. I could not take my eyes off of them and immediately thought they were some type of weather balloon or something like that, THEN the two rectangles tilted sideways in UNISON, flew so fast sideways / on an angle, and then leveled and slowly tipped side to side, similar to how a pilot will tip the wings left and then right to say hello/goodbye, all in unison. The two units then leveled out to flat again and my neighbor came around the corner I asked if she could see what I see, she said she had been watching them from her condo windows too and they freaked her out, she said they came so close to her window and all of a sudden went out over the lake in a split second.

The elevator came and we got on, by the time I resurfaced from the underground parking I could not see them any longer. I searched online and found other sightings that were termed the death platform and a pic of a grey very large flat object in the sky, the only difference is that we saw 2 of them, all other sightings were by individual people and only saw 1 platform.

I had lost my father about 3 months before this sighting, my neighbor had lost her sister 4 months before the sighting, we both had an abundance of airline and aircraft experience and the lasting impression was it made me feel like it was my Dad and her sister giving us the final goodbye - wingtip.

Still, to recall the memory it is hard to fathom what I saw, but we both saw the exact same thing in the sky, it was not a dream, we both understand the laws of flight well too and this was not anything we had seen before. She was adamant she did not believe in UFOs, I said it did not need to be aliens but for sure they were unidentified flying objects, to that she 100% agreed.

UFO report: US intelligence community releases long-awaited report - CNNPolitics

[The report examined 144 reports of what the government terms “unidentified aerial phenomenon” — only one of which investigators were able to explain by the end of the study. Investigators found no evidence that the sightings represented either extraterrestrial life or a major technological advancement by a foreign adversary like Russia or China, but acknowledge that is a possible explanation.
...

“We absolutely do believe what we’re seeing are not simply sensor artifacts. These are things that physically exist,” the official said, noting that 80 of the reported incidents included data from multiple sensors. In 11 cases, pilots reported a “near-miss” collision with these strange objects.]

Found my "UFO" report from many years ago.
I remember not being able to sleep because I thought it was going to land on my balcony and take me.

This is another one from the UK around the same time, similar except the colour thing:

The National UFO Reporting Center has "upgraded", not sure what they have done, but all reports from the past 20+ years are gone.
I'm not interested in UFOs/ aliens etc, just wanted to show my son as he was there (asleep) at the time.
They've removed the entire archive of reports, at least from public view.
Why would they do that?
(Conspiracy theories not welcome, thank you).

Humans look at animals and all other life on earth as dumb. We humans get the occasional pet dog or talking parrot that we consider smarter than the rest but on the whole we are the advanced species on earth. Our planet is huge but our universe is infinite. For those reasons I believe there are life forms out there somewhere that if they were to come to earth human kind would be like the barking dogs that our pets are to us.
