I have heard that people with HPV (genital warts) cannot even donate blood. I wonder if that's true.

HPV is not transfered through blood, so having HPV doesn't disqualify you from donating blood.

HPV is very common and there are over 100 strains of it. About 30 of those are sexually transmitted Some strains cause genital warts, some cause cervical cancer, some cause no noticeable symptoms. While having genital warts is an indicator of having HPV, having HPV does not mean you have genital warts.

There are a lot of people who are willing to donate organs for the right price.

Is allowing donations of organs by prisoners, in exchange for an early-out, going to eventually lead to legalizing the right to sell your own organs?? If so, those who are wealthy, and can afford to keep buying new parts, will be living even longer.

I'd be willing to trade a spare car for someone's cute buns instead of my own. Yes. I can see this being a hit!

But does it really matter if the wealthy or the poor benefit? To me, it matters that there are protections for the donors, but I don't care if the beneficiary is rich or poor. I think it's a shame people die for lack of a liver, kidney, or bone marrow, when someone else could donate it. To tell the truth, some degree of financial compensation for some physical pain, time, and the potential for something to go wrong - doesn't seem out of line.

Thanks for the info... I don't know much about HPV and I thought it sounded odd that a person with HPV couldn't donate blood! Now I know that isn't the case!
