This filled my heart to tears! One of the brightest stories to fill my day. Honestly, I'm just filled with emotional happieness to read this!!! This school/friends should be very, very proud of being so filled with heartfelt respect and love for one of their own. This has touched me on every possible level!!!!!!!!

This made my heart so very happy! What a wonderful , sweet beautiful young lady. Her granddad looked so proud escorting her. What a wonderful school. We live in a small town where the kids pretty much know each other from kindergarten and are protective of any one who is different. I have always taught my kids not to judge anyone by how they look , what color their skin is or how much money they have but what is one the inside. It makes me so proud to know that this message has sunk in from the very diverse group of friend's each of my children have. The parent's of this school should be very proud of their children for being able to recognize what a wonderful person Kristin is!

ETA: My daughter did competitive cheerleading for a couple of years and one of the gyms had a competitive team made up of only boys and girls with downs and they were so much fun to watch. They were awesome and you could tell they were having the best time. It really sent home the message that first and formost it should be fun! They always got a standing ovation !

How wonderful for her! Downs kids are the most gentle, loving people that walk the earth. Look at how proud she is in her picture. Just beautiful.

I'm going to show how suspicious I am because when I first read this, my first thought was that she was nominated as a joke...to be made fun of. High-school kids can be awfully mean...
