I know we know that TS didn't bill insurance, but did she bill patients? Specifically, I'm wondering if the practice only accepted payment up front, at the time services were rendered, or whether they had accounts receivable and billing practices.

There are many reason why I'm wondering, the most interesting (IMO) reason would be that if MS billed patients, wouldn't that be a perfect way to launder money? Bill a fake patient, attribute payments made to business to fake patient.

In addition to that, she had speaking engagements, was working on getting the tv gig, selling supplements, earning probable referral fees... her professional life was very, very busy.

Do we know how often she had speaking engagements? Often? Or just occasionally? Do we know she was paid for them?

I have had occasional speaking engagements for which I was given a gift or small gratuity. Professional speakers take years to build a reputation and audience to where they can actually charge fees and make money.

I'm not convinced that was an income source for her.

Honestly, if the Sievers had been pulling in great money I doubt there would have been a page (why risk the red flag). The focus immediately after her death wouldn't have been collecting cash and keeping the practice going. Based on MS's reaction it appears as if they were living paycheck to paycheck.

Could be, but it could be that someone is really into money and was using it as an opportunity.

MS and TS went to charity functions in a very wealthy area. My SIL belongs to an organization and they raise money for some pet projects. One guy flies in for the evening to attend a fund raiser. People will give $100,000. $10,000 is normal.

It could be MS saw the numbers and figured it would be easy to get the cash for his tragedy

Honestly, I am confused. So what if she was making a profit?

Couldn't "mr. moral reason" killer who supposedly suffers from chronic illness be secretly seething over someone selling products for profit that many consider snake oil to people desperately looking for answers to their health problems? Can you see how someone with a twisted mind could develop anger at the wrong target? People with hidden mental issues tend to fixate on a person they think is the crux of their problem. That said, I believe this is way off base and has zero to do with it, but you did ask.

If that's the best we have, I'm going to shut this line of discussion down and remove some posts. I moderate very loosely but speculation has to be based on some sort of semblance of fact. And, I agree with you - this is just way off the charts. In fact, it makes me cringe.

eta: I just removed 16 posts attacking and defending the sales of supplements. Take note: This is the second time we have cleaned up the same mess. Insinuating TS was doing something unethical is maligning the victim. No more. Let it go. Move on.

The person involved in the royal harbor ordeal was LS's brother in law, IIRC. I thought LS's husband's name began with a G. I could be wrong and perhaps LS buys property with her brother in law (and the in law is G, not P).

Because if has been discussed how CWW may have been skimming money from the biz or diverting funds.

If she was not selling at a profit, then there is not that motive.

I would also suggest, given the foreclosure issue, money may have been a source of conflict in the marriage and a potential motive. The profitability of the practice, or lack thereof, has direct bearing on that.

Here's what I'm going to do - take myself out of the equation since I am clearly cringing (lol) and ask Tricia to review when she has time. I need some fresh eyes making this call.

Especially with the dealer invoicing the clinic for services rendered to get nice, clean money for "computer work". It could even be done by an office manager and meth salesman with TS knowing about it. The best meth dealers are cookers and salesmen without being users.

And possibly buying ingredients through the practice via a back door of the practice's computer system. Better ingredients make better product. Jeez, the non-food grade chemicals that street cooks use to make meth (or whatever) and people put that into their bodies and minds.

For that matter, not even ingredients, but actual drugs. Oxy-things go for huge money.

You get right into the case with us and acknowledge how difficult it is at times to sit and be patient and not sleuth folks that are begging to be sleuthed.
