Dr. Sievers' RHHC Medical Practice - Operations & Website

<snipped>

... MS is ignoring LS's request to remove her name from the website, office answering machine. Not a friendly thing to do, MS.

Just wondering if she actually said she "requested" it? I think it just states that nothing had changed at the website or answering machine. MS has kind of dropped out of doing anything at all. He might have been in shock or denial at first (trying to keep things going) now that it's hitting home, maybe he is debilitated/unable. That would be different than intentionally disobeying her request.

Beach- you state you moderate "loosely" but I just wanted to add a few thoughts to this:
You get right into the case with us and acknowledge how difficult it is at times to sit and be patient and not sleuth folks that are begging to be sleuthed.
You step in and pick very appropriate times to interject and redirect the flow of conversation. You are willing to be vulnerable and ask Tricia for direction and share your own candid reflections.
I joined very interested in the Hanna G. Case because I have 2 young daughters. Since then, I have been impressed with your style and approach to moderating. I will end with a sincere thank you!

aww, this post made my day! Thank you for such kind words, observation!

Seriously. I could never just "moderate" and not get into the cases and sleuth. Like anyone else I form opinions based on the same stuff available to all of us. I don't try to hide which way I'm leaning because that wouldn't be honest for me. Besides, I don't think I could pull off pretending to be transparent even if I tried. lol But, I do constantly "check myself" and sincerely consider all opinions. Everybody here has something to offer. Especially true of the group following this case. There are some very bright minds here opining for both points-of-view.

Thank you again for the kind words! :blowkiss:

By the way, I also find it very telling that the most recent Naples news piece on the patient records states that LS stopped the interview at the point that she was pressed to outline the last time she spoke with MS.

Edited: Sorry, it was the most recent NBC2 post - see my link below

AR, do you have a link for that by chance? :). I don't think I have ever seen that report. TIA.

I am hoping someone can provide that link but I just wanted to clarify that IIRC- LS said she last spoke with MS when they were at the office. She went on to add she is no longer working there.

No, I have not read that LS specifically requested that MS remove her affiliation with the practice. I made that inference after reading a 9/25 article where LS says " I want to stress the fact that I am not in that office any longer. Yes, there’s still an answering machine saying that I am, but I’m not". The article asks "Why is her name still there, even though both the site and the phone message have been updated since Sievers’ death? Mark Sievers wasn’t available to ask."

I made the leap that LS would only make a public statement to "stress" that she is not affiliated with MS after MS ignored her request to remove said affiliation.

"An email from Mark Sievers to patients Monday night says he has not been able to forward medical records because of IT and email issues.

Mark Sievers, who was the office manager at his wife’s medical practice in Estero, said he has not had access to his computer and networking equipment used to send medical records since the death of his wife, Dr. Teresa Sievers, whose body was found inside the couple’s Bonita Springs home on June 29."

Vague issues. What could be the email problem?

I hope this is okay to post

Full text of the email sent to patients:

I am writing to give everybody an update as to the future of the practice, your medical records and a return of pre-payment for new patient visits.

Just for clarification, we can not order labs, make referrals or authorize prescription refills as we are not working with a doctor at this time.

To date, we have been unsuccessful in finding a like minded and like hearted physician to step into the practice and I feel it would be a disservice to all of you if we settled for anything less.

Due to IT (information technology) & email issues I have not been able to send the medical records as I originally planned. Please mail your request to the office address:

10201 Arcos Ave. Suite 201
Estero, FL 33928

and I will have them processed as soon as possible.

My computer and networking equipment that I have used to access & send medical records has not been in my custody since the death of my wife, Teresa. When I go to the office I seem to encounter the press, thus making it much more difficult.

I am currently working on a solution to this and will start sending records out again this week.

If you had already scheduled a new patient visit and had paid your pre-payment, please send me a request in writing for a refund (if you have not received one yet) and I will be processing those as soon as I can.

On another note, I have spoken with the manufacturers and distributors for the supplements and they have agreed to allow our patients to continue to order supplements under Dr. Sievers name (indefinitely) as you have already become accustomed to doing so.
Dr Sangeeta Pati (who was a mentor to Teresa) is accepting new patients in Orlando & patients would need to visit her once a year. Please call her directly at [readacted] for more information.

I am sorry for the delay in sending this update. I will be sending more updates as they develop. My daughters and I greatly appreciate your support and prayers during this tragic time in our lives.

Sincerely,

Mark Sievers

Can’t help but think that this is a letter composed by an innocent man:

I am totally mixed up. Why does he need the very computer from the office? I am sure someone would lend him a computer.

What network? That is strange. Did CWW have their own network?

Notice he didn't say he doesn't have access to the medical records - just that he does not have his computer and networking equipment. That is two different things. Me thinks the man has been reading all of the negative posts/press and realizes it doesn't help his cause to be holding people's records.

Nice touch, asking patients to mail in written requests (presumably because their emails were not received) which probably starts the timer on another 30 days after MS opens the mail.

I do not believe that there were no backups of the medical record system.

Maybe the records would show fraudulent billing on his part. Idk

Agreed AR. Also, this was written for MS by someone else IMO. Not that it matters, but it is not his "style" at all.... at least in comparison to his writings on their website.
