--->>>How would DP know that?

.

I agree Camper, Dp and Joel don't know what evidence LE has and are constantly on fishing expeditions to find out what they may have on Drew.

No this is much more of a specific thing that he was worried about at first and then suddenly felt he was safe from whatever that was being found.
It could have been her body, a piece of evidence he felt he left at the scene, a trail of some sort he left that he was able to check on or send someone to check while he was away for those few days. He made a mistake and somehow he felt like that had been covered over by then. Something that he thought would have been realistically found or thought of during that first week. What was it?

I've always thought he wanted to hide his face from the public to make sure no one would come forward and say "I saw that man here." But media made sure his photos were shown and no one came forward so I think he felt safe in letting his face be shown and that it was useless to continue with the disguise.

Of course there is also the theory that the disguise was to cover the fact that the person who was there was not always DrewP. That he was somewhere else, doing something else. For example, it would have been during that time that DrewP took out the equity on his home. No media picked up on it until Mims made it public. They didn't know when he was coming and going from the home.

Maybe he was going to take his next victim, ummm new girlfriend to her highschool winter dance.

With all the manpower on this case I sure hope they are tailing him. It would be great if the limo driver was an undercover detective.

And I still am perplexed by Drew's sudden change from trying to hide behind the bandito getup to being the jolly jokester. I really feel that he felt the time had passed for being able to locate Stacy. That if that was possible he somehow felt safe that her remains would not be located now. Why? Did he contact someone that removed the body from the original location to a location distant? Did he personally drive by the site during his time away and see that there were no tell tale signs ? What happened that made Drew change so abruptly?

His changes in mood coincide directly with how facts of the case come out.

He's a grumpy jerk hiding behind a camera=his house is under seige, Stacy is missing, fingers are being pointed at him.

He's giddy, confident, joking, and hamming for the camera=something has happened that removed the smoking gun in this case. A big problem has been solved for Drew and a weight lifted off his shoulders.

He's now downcast and quiet=Tom Morphy's story comes out.

Mark Furhman stated that when LE is going in the wrong direction that Drew is smiling, when they are close, Drew is not smiling.

Do you happen to remember when exactly he changed, meaning how many days since Stacy went missing? I too am thinking that it might have something to do with where she's buried and him feeling confident that she won't be found.

The day he came back from clearing his head, he went on that "pig" rant with the reporters and freaked Sharon out by chasing her down. Then the next day he was as sweet as can be. I think it was the day after his first GJ appearance that I noticed the change. Around Nov 9-10th?

Thanks :) and that would be enough time for decomposition to be far enough along to make it so the coroner couldn't determine how she died especially if she was in water or chemicals.

A method of tissue degeneration used to dispose of farm animals using barrels or vats of lye take about a week and all you are left with is liquid soap product and a few bone fragments that can be crushed between your fingers.

Would there be any DNA left to test?

No, and there is very little odor involved. What smell is there is soaplike. Cadaver dogs have been fooled by it. It was such a good way to get rid of a body that selling Red Devil Lye over the counter was banned. You can still order it, but for a commercial purpose or soap making.

That is interesting! Now I wonder if DP had any? I read that he might have. The pool chemicals would have a similar effect on the body but I think they'd take longer.

Lol, let's keep that side of me a secret. I probably scare enough people around me as it is! Omg, the websites I had to visit to get that info...I won't link them here.

And to correct my statement on why Red Devil Lye is now banned. It's actually several reasons, you can buy it, but the recipe is changed. Part of that was because it is used in Meth making.

LOL Chico and I were talking about that same thing awhile back! If anyone would have reason to ever look at the places we have visited in order to track down information...it would look very bad!

Lemme see: no body trials, loss of heat after death, currents in canals, maps where they have found people deceased, and various other sites. LOL Yup...would look pretty bad!

My research is in one of the threads, I think the Blue barrel thread. But several forms of Lye, IIRC, Sodium Hydroxide, is used in water treatment, pool cleaning and soap making among other things.

Chlorine is caustic to human flesh, but would take alot longer and create dangerous gasses. The smell and mess left behind would be tremendous.

I have to make a point to clean up my search engines so my kids or others never find them.

Oh yeah, and tissue degeneration creates heat. Remember Tom said the container was warm?

I can't remember the WS member that was recently talking about this. The are really into forensics as a hobby and collect books on it. When them and their Significan't other were moving in together, the S.O. saw the books and said "If I didn't know you, I would be afraid of you." LOL.
