Drew Peterson's Trial *FIFTH WEEK* part one

I know years ago they'd send LE to Federal prisons and kept them out of the local prison system because of running into inmates they may have arrested. Not sure they still do that???? jmo

Some states may do that but here in Louisiana, if you are sentenced to state time, you do state time. The Federal System is a whole 'nother ballgame, IMO.

Here x-cops do not run into inmates they may have arrested and helped convict because they are housed seperately in seperate wings.

Can anyone tell me why DP will not be taking the stand in his own defense? I mean, he obviously has nothing to worry about as this was an accident, right? I would want to clear my name if I were him.

I think it is because Drew can't keep that Cheeeeeeet eating grin off of his lying face and he just has to say something downgrading about women. JMO.

Prosecution rests in #drewpeterson. Judge denies motion for directed acquittal. Defense case begins. Jury and bailiff all wearing jersey

Wow....sounds like there are a lot of bad cops in Louisiana. jmo

In Session The sidebar ends. The judge leaves the bench.

That makes me nervous. I worry that IF this jury votes him GUILTY, that their behavior may be cause for an appeal of juror misconduct. Going in to court each day, color coordinated WITH THE BAILIFF...that is too much.

Watch them recess early for the day because the defense team will say their witnesses are from out of town. I bet they counted on this judge letting Harry Smith testify bcause the judge told them to have Smith on standby for Monday as a possible defense witness.

I don't think the defense OR their despicable client is quite as confident today.

MOO

Why hasn't the judge told the jurors to knock it off?

Apparently he has no problem with it. He even joked about it this morning and told them they were intelligent because none were wearing Cubs jerseys.

I think if the bailiff is doing it too, it's okay and they will have a reason that has nothing to do with court.

Okay, I am really angry about that.

oh oh Mary P.

They are probably going to ask her why Kathleen never mentioned the knife incident.

Yes! I just got caught up with today's happenings. Daughters surprised me last weekend with a surprise birthday/family reunion! What a shock! Anway, I hope listening to the defense today doesn't ruin my mood.

I was hoping that the judge would admonish the jury for their inappropriate actions but now I hope he doesn't. I'm afraid that if the jury is this easily swayed by someone as to act like school kids then they would most likely get pizzzzzzzzzed if the judge got on them and retaliate by getting back at the court system with a "not guilty" verdict. I don't want them to have a reason to do this and I wouldn't put it pass them to do it. I'm curious as to who in the jury has the power of persuasion to "lead" the jury into acting in such a way. Concerns me a bit that this person may be elected foreman and easily lead the jury to come to "his or her" own opinion.:moo:

OMG!! :what:

In Session The jurors have returned to the courtroom. The defense calls its first witness: Mary Pontarelli (questioned by Attorney Greenberg). The witness repeats that she lived next door to Drew and Kathleen Peterson. “Would you say you were her best friend?” “Yes . .. at least three or four times a week.” “Your son was extremely close with her?” “Yes.” “You’d go on vacations together?” “Yes.” “The kids would all play together?” “Yes.” “During that time, you got to know both Kathleen and Drew well?” “Yes, I did.” “Did you ever see Drew get mad at Kathleen?” “No.” “Did you ever see Drew strike her?” “No . . . he was very nice, very respectful, a good neighbor.” “Was he a happy guy?” “Yes . . . he joked a lot.” “He’d say things tongue in cheek a lot?” “Yes, he’s a funny guy. He’d make jokes a lot . . . not in a mean way, in a fun way.” “On the day that Kathleen was found in the tub, you went in there?” “Yes, I did . . I went in the first time, ran out into the bedroom, and then went back in.” “You never saw any blue towel there?” “No, I did not . . . I did kneel down by the bathtub.” “Onto the floor?” “Yes.”
