RT @facsmiley: #drewpeterson jury all wearing suits today. Maybe in response to criticism that they weren't taking their duties seriously ...

StacyStClair: #DrewPeterson defense tries to stipulate Baden is "uncategorically qualified" as an expert. State wants to go thru his resume anyway.

I wonder if the Juror's are thinking..."How can a attorney get on the stand and state what a client stated, aren't they suppose to not talk about privileged phone calls unless they are dead?" This is my first thought when reading HS testimony, will it also be in the minds of some juror's?

Is the blue color they are wearing for SADNESS and the ORANGE meant as you're going to jail DP?

There was no privilege, I believe, because she did not hire him. jmo

We're going over Dr. Baden's qualifications. His background is extensive. Here's a bio: http://bit.ly/N1vhy5 #DrewPeterson

I hope not because they shouldn't be reading on the internet to KNOW that we are criticizing them.

Amazing. Somehow I was under the misconception that it was Kathleen who had perjured herself, not Stacy.

REally confusing...

Harry Smith testified [ I think during the grand jury or a pretrial hearing...] that Stacy wanted to know if she could get more $ in her divorce if she threatened to tell about Drew killing Kathleen.

The DT wanted that in so they could show the jury that she was making it all up just to get money from the divorce. They wanted to prove that she was going to perjure herself.

But it backfired on them big time.:dance:

Instead, the witness answered that Stacy told him that DREW MURDERED KATHLEEN and would that help her in the divorce...lol

I wish IS was devoting this time to the DP trial instead of showing an encore of the Hemy Neumann trial : (

In Session The State calls its first rebuttal witness: Dr. Michael Baden (questioned by prosecutor Connor). “I’m in private practice . . . I’m a physician; my area of expertise is forensic pathology.” The defense offers to stipulate to Dr. Baden’s expertise, but the State rejects that offer. So the witness begins to go over his educational and professional background. He says that he has done special research into the human diaphragm. He worked for the New York City Medical Examiner’s Office (originally as Deputy Chief, and then as Chief Medical Examiner), then because the Chief Forensic Pathologist for the New York State Police (until last year).

At #DrewPeterson trial, Baden tells jury he is working with Polish government to investigate 2010 plane crash that killed Polish president

rather than describing someone who is well-turned out in fine clothes, it is said of someone who looks like hell warmed over.

In this case, I think that the judge was being sincere though.

I had to look up "sartorial". :blushing:

Judge Edward Burmila deems Dr. Michael Baden an expert in his field. #DrewPeterson

Dr. Baden is testifying as an expert witness with no objection from the defense. #DrewPeterson

I bet he will refute the DT's experts who said the diaphrsgm was not injured it was just an 'artifact.'

In Session Dr. Baden continues to go over his professional experience. At one point, the defense objects, and the prosecution asks for a sidebar.

Burmila sustains objection to questions about Baden's contract with Fox News. #DrewPeterson

Dr. Baden performed Savio's autopsy 2 days after Dr. Blum performed the exhumation autopsy; Baden did it pro bono

Trying to get caught up from being gone. Thanks to all for the updates! If help is needed with them today I will be here, just let me know.

In Session The sidebar ends. The witness is qualified as an expert, without defense objection. Over his career, he’s performed more than 20,000 autopsies. “Do you have a contract with the FOX News Agency to provide services?” “Yes, I’ve had a contract with FOX News . . .” Objection/Sustained. “Did you have occasion to be contacted by members of Kathleen Savio’s family in 2007?” “Yes . . . I was contacted by members of the family, and asked . . .” Objection/Sustained. “Were you contacted by members of Kathleen Savio’s family in 2007?” “I was.” “As a result of that contact, did you perform an autopsy here in Will County in 2007?” “I did . . . the autopsy was performed at the Will County Morgue, with the approval of the coroner, Mr. O’Neil. And it was performed two days after a previous exhumation autopsy had been performed by Dr. Blum.” “How much were you paid for that autopsy?” “I was paid nothing. It was pro bono . . . the only payment I received in this matter was two years later, when I was asked by the Will County prosecutor to come to a hearing. I was paid $5,000.”

Baden on Dr. DiMaio testimony: "I disagree with that opinion..the injury pattern..in my opinion could not be caused by a fall"

Jon Seidel ‏@SeidelContent
Baden: Savio's injuries consistent with a struggle, not a fall.

Kara Oko ‏@KaraOko
Are those injuries consistant with a struggle? Dr. Baden "Yes."

#DrewPeterson trial in session. Judge on the bench. Some court business before jurors brought in.

It's about time!!!!

Yep - the judge & the principals must have had quite a um, er, discussion in chambers about Baden & who knows what-all.

Maybe they were also discussing C/A and how long, etc., and the holiday weekend, so judge could have an idea if how next week would progress.

Baden says he disagrees with opinions reached by doctors Jentzen and DiMaio.:dance::great:
