In Session “After she made this statement, you didn’t offer any further counseling to her?” “I did not meet with her again.” “You let her leave this meeting without giving her any advice?” “I did not tell her what to do; that is correct.” “She also told you that Drew told her that he killed his own men when he was in the Army?” “That is correct.” “This was outside, on the patio?” “Right . . . there were people outside.” “It was a fairly busy Starbucks?” “Yes.”

I am surprised that the prosecution didn't ask Rev. Schori to elaborate more, but maybe they are playing it safe to avoid more OBJECTIONS! and requests for mistrials. The info is out there though.

Lopez: “You told the grand jury that you had heard rumors about what had happened to Miss Savio, remember that?”

Schori: “I do.

Schori recalls testifying before grand jury, but doesn't recall using a phrase that SP "burst into tears," as transcript apparently details.

Lopez: “You had kind of an idea of what she was talking about?

Schori: “Just a very faint idea... I’d heard a little bit at the church.”

Lopez: “When she mentioned this, you were also thinking about things people had previous told you, trying to connect them?”

Schori: “No, not really.”

Lopez: “You had an office at that church?

Why didn't the prosecution object when this statement was made? “I’m not asking you about other people you’ve embarrassed, I’m asking you about this session. Just don't think the defense should get away with such snark.

In Session “Now, you testified at the grand jury on March 27, 2008?” “I’m not sure of the date.” “But you remember testifying at the grand jury?” “I do.” Lopez then reads from the grand jury transcript. “You said she burst into tears?’ “I don’t recall saying she burst into tears, but I remember tears.” “Did you offer a Kleenex to her, or a napkin from Starbucks?” “I don’t recall.” “After you left that meeting, you didn’t go to her house at any time?” With that question, the judge asks that the jurors be removed from the courtroom.

"She also told you that Drew told her that he killed his own men when he was in the Army?” “That is correct

why would the Defense bring that statement in?

It's DP, sure it's plausable he did that.

In Session The jury is now gone. Apparently, one of the jurors has been coughing, and the judge is afraid that the cough is interfering with the court reporter’s ability to do her job. He calls a brief recess, in order to allow the juror’s cough to quiet down.

That juror does really have a bad, bad cough. I wonder if it is some intense lung issue going on, but I remember hearing the coughing too and it was rather distracting....so was the copier/fax machine at the court reporters desk

I think most Pastors don't ride in a car alone with a female (even just to the bank or to lunch) so there's no chance of being accused of anything close to impropriety. In this day and age they should probably include males in that policy as well.

They probably want the jury to think she was lying or delusional. I think I believe her more than him here. I could easily see him doing that.

Even some therapists (licensed social workers, etc) meet with their clients at the park. It is soothing to be close to nature. There are even some that go to the gym and have therapy sessions side by side on a treadmill....seriously. There isn't anything weird about what this guy did.

Our pastor doesn't meet with the opposite sex alone. Ever.

are going to act like Stacy was making up a lot of stuff.
That was all I could think of....
I would'nt be surprised if he has killed before. I am still chapped at his "jovial" demeanor while being interviewed after Kathleen was found dead. How revolting.

Agree, but they know about Burmila's love affair with the DT and probably realize they'd just be overruled. But Lopez looks like such an azzhat, let him keep up with his snark. It can only hurt his client. Schori is doing well. I particularly loved his "Those are your words" answer. Lopez got pwned!

judge bars Schori from telling jurors that #DrewPeterson told Stacy that with her alibi he would "commit the perfect crime."

:banghead:

Why????

It came right out of DP's mouth. He's here in the courtroom. He can go up there & dispute the pastor & say he did not say that.

Un.be.lievable.

In Session The sidebar ends. “Sir, when you went to this Starbucks, you didn’t know what she was going to tell you?” “That’s right.” “Why didn’t’ you meet at the church, in a private setting, to discuss private issues with people?” “I didn’t believe it had to be done the way you suggest . . . she was not embarrassed.” “How do you know that?” “I believe she was not embarrassed.” “You don’t even know if she was telling the truth?’ “I believe she was telling the truth.” “Did you keep a log of when you met her?” “No, I did not.” “Did you take any notes?” “I never take notes at counseling sessions.” “I’m not asking you about other people you’ve embarrassed, I’m asking you about this session. Did you take notes?’ “No.” “Drew wasn’t present?” “That’s right.” “You never suggested she go to a shelter?” “No.” “You didn’t call her the next day to see if she was OK?” “Correct.” “You didn’t talk to Drew about it?” “That’s correct.” “You didn’t tell anybody about it?” “That’s correct.” “In fact, you were sitting on a grand jury?” “That’s correct.” “Did you speak to somebody in August?” “No.” “September?” “No.” “You didn’t speak to anybody until October?” “That is correct.”

BBM
Seriously???? He's allowed to say Schori's methods embarrassed other people? Any proof of that?

They better tread carefully, if they put Stacy on trial they will be opening Pandora's box

The Defense is down right scumbags.

KaraOko: I am told the jurors looked "stone cold" during parts of Lopez's cross, on meeting at coffee shops and "embarrassing" people

Reporter inside the courtroom does not think jurors seem to be responding well to 'the sharks' cross on this witness

Lopez: While she was telling you this, was she crying in her latte at the same time?”
