He owned two nice homes, two new cars, a Harley, a travel trailer, a light plane, and he had 6 kids that he supported.

Despite his monthly pension amount, it still is almost unbelievable he could be drawing such a high salary to afford all those "luxuries" - especially with two ex-wives and children - however, with those ex-wives and children one would think he'd have to account for all sources of income. The problem appears to be when he got to ex-wife #3 that he may have sensed some financial difficulty with his "lifestyle"?

into consideration all of the people that he was providing for....food, shelter, every day living expenses including an ex wife and kids, he was really living high on the hog as they say.
A Harley alone costs about 50K plus his and her cars too? the plane, etc, etc
I think that he must have been taking bribes.:moo:

On a separate note, I saw a hilarious commentary by Jeff Ruby
tonight on the news talking to the press saying that "where he is from you let the legal system take care of things and if they don't you take care of it yourself, physically" He said that he and Drew were exchanging dirty looks and he felt like going over there to punch him out before he mouthed FU to Drew. He said "Drew Peterson makes Scott Peterson look like Tim Tebow.":floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

judge now bans receipt testimony because it doesn't speak to Drew's whereabouts at exact time state has suggested Savio died.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO:furious:

Oh, come on now, Your Honor. Just what exact time did the defense specify?? 1:49:46am, or 2:38:42am, or 3:22:29am, or 4:37:44am, or what? Does that need to be converted to Greenwich Mean Time?

Weak, weak, weak, IMO.

But maybe it may work in the PT's favor, maybe. We'll see.

I have nevah!!!! (Well, in this trial, I guess I have....

from 3 years ago? It is such a momentous occasion to go to Krispy Creme, I am surprised that he didn't have it framed! He knew that he wasn't off the hook for that killing and it could still come up --and it was, or she was unearthed literally.......three years later and he has his receipt from a donut joint? The judge barred this??!?!?! This is so obvious that you don't even have to 🤬🤬🤬🤬 an eyebrow. :banghead:

I'm surprised he didn't have that receipt laminated. And I am only halfway kidding.

It's such a huge red flag that he saved that, he is practically screaming "I knew you would say I did it, see my attached receipts which I saved for 3 years, its my alibi!!" :floorlaugh::what:

He's so freaking cocky, you know he expects to get off:skip: scott-free!

I forgot about the pool and I never knew he had a travel trailer too!! My goodness!!!! I am sure he had some dirty dealings that netted him money other than his salary.

He wasn't supporting 6 kids, only 4. His 2 oldest kids from 1st marriage were grown adults before Stacy even came along.

But still...4 kids...did he have to pay Kathleen alimony?

You could say he was a bit of a lifestyle addict, because IMO he killed Kathleen to save himself the grief of having to share his pension and other assets with her.

abbie:moo:

(I wonder if he ever pocketed any drugs seized in busts, to have someone re-sell for him, for the $$. I put NOTHING past him. Am sure he requested and received ____jobs in exchange for letting some females go free from traffic violations, etc.)

Again, MOO. And EWWWWWW, I would rather pay a traffic ticket or even be jailed before I would have any physical interactions with a creep like him.

My late husband retired with a nice pension because he had been night Commander for 16 years of his career. He had gotten wounded and spent the last 3 years of his career recruiting. LE does get cost of living increases even after retiring. The way the schedules are, most LE have plenty of time to have a second, part time job. We weren't wealthy, but did fairly well.

DP was a cop for all the wrong reasons, IMO, and that can be very lucrative if you know what I mean, so he was really doing well.

I feel good about the chances of either a conviction OR a hung jury. I honestly believe there is at least a couple of women on that jury that will never give in to a not guilty verdict. They have enough to convict DP if they want to, IMO. These people have not lived under a rock. They know the criticism the Pinellas 12 have gotten and still continue to get, so they will be careful.

I watched a trial where the defense even objected during a closing but it didn't get them anywhere. That was a trial I didn't feel a guilty verdict would happen, but it did. The jury had listened and taken notes. It was a circumstantial case also. The jury had seemed to have a very laid back attitude but did their job and took their time.

So; guilty or hung jury, IMO. I am very hopeful!

Is Bollingbrook a high cost of living area?
Just wondering.

THis jury is not sequestered. They are going home every afternoon. Their families have tv on, and there are car radios when they drive, and they all have computers probably and many have smart phones. So I think some of them are getting some updates in the evenings.

I bet they are curious what people are saying about their color coordinating clothing. So many of them are probably peeking at the news or the blogs. I know I would.

After today's testimony from the pastor, along with the introduction of Stacy's photo, my belief is at least a majority of the jurors have to be thinking he is guilty - if for no other reason than Stacy is not here to testify herself. Is it just ironic that Kathleen "accidentally drowned" and Stacy "disappeared"? A reasonable person would think "NOT!".

I never knew the Prosecution could only present evidence that goes along with the accused defense story. This is bull crap.

I would too.:blushing:

They probably heard stuff 'accidently'. How in the world could they avoid it for 2 years, for Pete's sake??????

Why they chose to have a pool of jurors selected so far in advance is kind of understandable, capture them 2 years ago so they could avoid this pool of jurors hearing any more bad press about DP, whose reputation was already in the crapper when they were selected. But to expect them to avoid all info about DP for 2 years is, IMO, pretty unreasonable. Maybe his lawyers live in la-la land.

IMO the jurors know about Stacy and what happened to her. That was all over the news before they were ever selected to be in the jury pool of potentials.

:moo: all day long

If the defense gets too down and dirty in their case, the jury is not going to appreciate that.

Let them sling mud. It will backfire, IMO.

Bolingbrook is not considered an affluent neighborhood among those who live in the Chicagoland area, if that helps.

Exactly. It may have already happened with their repetitions on "rough sex". I do not imagine most women jurors would care for that innuendo regarding the deceased victim.

Drew scares the daylights out of me. He is volatile, a wife beater, had influence, jealous, a liar, a con man, paranoid and has murdered 2 women. Oh and a narcissist. Trained in LE he knows how to commit a crime. He is not your typical wife killer. He has the makings of a conniving serial killer, the difference is he kills his wives. People he is supposed to have loved at one time. He is a very dangerous man. If he isn't put away he will definitely kill again because he can't keep away from conning women or keeping his mouth shut. I'd really like to hear about his childhood.
And it was testified to that he was jovial when LE interviewed him. No matter how much you hate your ex you would feel very bad for your children if their mom was killed.

I think the pastor's testimony is definitely Peterson's undoing. There's no way around it....and obviously, the jurors know that Stacy Peterson cannot be there to testify so the pastor has to give his version of his conversation with her.

On another note & a little off topic...

Surely in Savio's $300,000 home there was more than 1 bathroom/bathtub. Did police ever check out the other bathrooms I wonder??

I wish the PT had asked the Pastor if he ever had someone else along when he talked to other women? Or took precautions such as leaving the door open when speaking to women in his office, etc. It doesn't seem suspicious to me that he did that when meeting w/ SP, especially considering the kind of husband Drew was. Wish that had been made clear by the PT through their questioning. Take the heat off poor SP.

way of estates and real established wealth, but it is a comfortable community with some nice homes......It is not an older long time suburb, but rather one that has grown up over time. I do think that Kathleen's bathroom looked very nice...that is the way the homes are there--relatively newer constructions where you can get more house for your money with newer kitchens and baths.

Acting stupid and jocular is DP's reaction when he's uncomfortable, IMO. Remember him coming out with his own videocamera and saying to the reporters assembled on his front lawn "Please leave me alone...." and something about his "little world". It wasn't funny but he meant for it to be, IMO. In fact NOTHING he has said over the years that was supposed to be funny wasn't even the slightest bit humorous, IMO.

I just had a very sobering thought about this case. If DP walks, not only will there be no justice for KS, there will never be any for SP as well.

Imo and in many others opinion, SP will never be found. He could not have another body of a dead wife just happen to be found like KS. He, imo, had to dispose of this one and use the: "she ran off" line to take SOME of the heat off the incredible coincidence of having back to back wives found dead.

Not only that, if he walks he will (imo) strike again and he will be that much more confident that he can continue to get away with it if there is no physical evidence.

If DP is anything he is smart. He knows how to conceal evidence if need be. The thought of him walking should send chills to all of us who live near him. He will be hell bent on revenge on many people and you can pretty much bet, he will seek it in some way. :furious:
