He said it is an absolute mad house there. LE and emergency vehicles everywhere. he said even the gray drizzling weather is adding to the craziness. He said most of the people are out of one frat house in particular. I asked if he knew anyone and he said um mom it is mostly a bunch of crackheads and I don't hang around with too many of those.

The investigation began in May 2007, when a student died of a drug overdose on the San Diego State campus and police traced the drug back to the ring. The operation intensified when a second student died from a cocaine overdose in a fraternity house in February 2008. As part of the investigation, the authorities said they infiltrated the three campus fraternities and made over 100 drug purchases. They also said that most of the members of the fraternities were either directly involved or were aware that their fraternity brothers were selling drugs.
Members of the Theta Chi, Phi Kappa Psi and Delta Sigma Pi fraternities were arrested on a variety of drug-related charges, officials said. They said that one of the non-students arrested was a documented member of a Los Angeles gang with links to Mexican drug cartels.

SAN DIEGO (AP) San Diego State University has suspended six fraternities after a sweeping drug investigation that landed members of three fraternities in jail on suspicion of openly dealing drugs on campus.
The probe prompted by the cocaine overdose death last year of a freshman sorority member led to the arrests of 96 people, 75 of them San Diego State students. A second drug death occurred during the investigation.
Twenty-nine people were arrested early Tuesday in raids at nine locations including the Theta Chi fraternity, where agents found cocaine, Ecstasy and three guns. Eighteen of those arrested were wanted on warrants for selling to undercover agents.
Theta Chi and five other fraternities have been suspended pending a hearing on evidence gathered during the investigation, dubbed Operation Sudden Fall.Authorities said some fraternity members openly dealt drugs, and that one sent a mass text message advertising special prices on cocaine. Two kilograms of cocaine were seized in all, along with 350 Ecstasy pills, marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, hash oil, methamphetamine, illicit prescription drugs, several guns and at least $60,000 in cash, authorities said.

Six San Diego State fraternities were placed on interim suspension today following the arrests of several fraternity members connected to the ongoing investigation of campus drug trafficking and sales.
Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Kappa Psi, Phi Kappa Theta, Theta Chi, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Sigma Alpha Mu fraternities were suspended.
