Oh man, I so hope that whatever is going to happen waits until I'm home with my critters...I'm dealing with TS/TD Isaac here, and will be home on Sat evening...I just want to be there for my critters if something big happens...

I'm unnerved to say the least at this point. Sigh.

It sounds like the pressure is being released slowly rather than in one huge quake. That's a good thing, IMO.

The problem is, Steely, that we don't really know. If it's being released slowly, YAY. But pressure releases in one area do build pressure in others...and it's not always understood where, how, why, and when. LOL.

There's so much we don't understand about EQs. All I know is when I got into the taxi last night to come home, I asked "has there been a big quake here?" The cab driver looked at me and said "erm, no." LOL.

If it comes, at least I'm home now. That makes me feel better. A lot better. Besides, can you imagine the grief I'd get from Simon if he had to go through an EQ without me? Oh man, that would be rough.

Couple of shakes to report.

2 (4.0/4.1) happened in Huron, looking like another doublet. This is fairly much in the middle of the state, much closer to San Fran than to Los Angeles.

3.something in Beverly Hills last night about 12:30. While this was only about 15 miles away from me, I didn't feel it. (I was asleep).

I will continue to monitor...this is interesting.

Hi Peeps!

I was going to relay some data for the EQ's referred to in above post by Herding Cats... but found there have been quite a few..

DH and I have bookmarked what we think is a comprehensive, up-to-date site for EQ data from all over the world.

It also provides a map with the coorresponding quakes.

If you click on the individual quakes, you will find even more specific information.

Anyway.. I thought I would share this site with you all for your viewing and shaking and baking pleasure! :seeya:

It is kind of interesting (:what: ) to see the concentration of earthquakes in CA and AK! :waitasec:

I hope a strong one doesn't shake your booty HC.

Dude, I've had no booty shakin' going on for years. LOL.

It's unusual, this quake activity...unusual indeed. I've made sure that all my emergency supplies are up to date (including eq insurance, too...), so now, if a quake hits, it's just making sure nothing lands on my head. Since that hasn't happened yet (and I've been in a number of doozies...), I figure I've got that already ingrained.

I'm just hoping nothing huge happens. 'Cause that would suck.

If you look at that link I posted, there are more maps and data provided.

You may want to take a look at the global wild fire map!

Again... You will see CA is one of the few states/places where there is a concentration of wild fires, too!

Aren't we Californians proud!

Puts a new slant on Shake and Bake!:what:
