Ebay tweaks system - drops buyer ratings

  • #21
Easy workaround: they could also keep track of incomplete feedbacks as a way of indicating who is bad at leaving feedback. A certain number of incompletes should lower your rating.

They just need to list a seller/buyer's amount of incomplete feedbacks (aka which party is responsible for it being completed, one or the other or both), and then make it available to the pubilc. Then they can make up their own mind as whether or not to trust someone who has a laundry list of incomplete feedbacks.
Sounds good. I, myself, read the negative comments. In some cases it takes just one or two to keep me from bidding. So, I'm not sure that your scenario would be good for me. The "bad" seller may slip through the cracks if they are allowed a certain number of incompletes.

ETA: I just went to my ebay account and notice that all of my ratings are still there. So, maybe, I am misunderstanding what Ebay has tweaked about the ratings being deleted.

Interesting. I like to look for sellers with good feedback. Makes me feel better. A couple of marks don't bother me because I know that you can't please everyone. But, if a seller has a lot of negative feedback I won't buy from them.
