what do you want them to put it out on the curb ...

Since people are being isolated there I would expect CDC or someone to go collect and dispose of those things. jmo

It is pretty obvious when the cause of death is Ebola. There is a lot of bleeding. He answered no to a question about being exposed to the virus, that is lying.

actually thats not true many people died ebola without bleeding some, do but it is not in all cases. Also many people have been infected dealing with pregnant women because they think they are miscarriage instead of have ebola. I do think it true that he should have surmised that it was ebola but I think he was trying to delude himself.

Health dept is having a hard time finding people to do it.

The Texas health commissioner, Dr. David Lakey, told reporters during an afternoon news conference that health workers should have moved more swiftly to clean the apartment but that they had had trouble finding an outside medical team to do the work. They encountered “a little bit of hesitancy,” he said.

“We are arranging for that apartment to be cleaned,” he said. “The house conditions need to be improved.”

I had a long converstion with my pharmacist this afternoon. He wasn't very reassuring. One thing he told me that was very interesting and I'd like verification is,that once someone is symptom free( the man and lady who got the experimental drug. Has anyone else survived?),the virus is still alive in seminal fluid for up to 7 weeks. I think that's what he meant. Maybe he means even if you don't get any symptoms yourself but have been in contact with the virus it can live for 7 weeks.
I will try and get more clarification, but he said its in some CDC report.

Did anyone watch Hannity? A doctor on there was saying the Dallas patient has Marburg Virus, not Ebola. I am confused.

The family who are isolated in the apartment have been told they face criminal charges if they leave the apartment or accept visitors.

However MailOnline reported on Wednesday that three individuals - a man in his twenties with a roll of garbage bags and two women - came and left the apartment.

Well , we all better hope that's not true. Marsburg is significantly worse than Ebola.

I just watched the press conference with the public health people in Dallas. I am far from reassured. Almost all the people there seemed to be double talking- a couple of them had eyes that look like deer in a headlight. Reporters tried to press one of them on why the heck the apartment had not been cleaned and contents burned- he had NO answer and deferred to a colleague who did not have one either. Someone asked the first guy what kind of cleaning company was handling the cleanup and his reply was something like -'a company that cleans places.'

I appreciate these people were thrust unexpectedly into the public spotlight- it just seems to me that a lot of what they need to be doing is to reassure the public the situation is in good hands. They did not do that IMO.

I wonder how many more cases it will take for the US to ban flights/ entries from affected nations?

The longest that Ebola virus has been detected after a patient appeared to be clear of the disease was a guy who infected his girlfriend by having intercourse with her seven weeks after he had apparently recovered.

As someone else has said, there is a wealth of useful information on the WHO website:

People remain infectious as long as their blood and body fluids, including semen and breast milk, contain the virus. Men who have recovered from the disease can still transmit the virus through their semen for up to 7 weeks after recovery from illness.

This is frightening. What is going on? Aren't there procedures for bio hazards? It sounds like everyone thinks this is someone else's job. JMO

I DO NOT suffer from hysteria, nor from what I can tell is anyone else posting here. So knock it off, please. I would never ever put anyone at risk of a horrible disease like Ebola, which the death is horrific. Anyone who would go to another country after KNOWENLY being exposed to Ebola, is a selfish, shameful man, who doesn't care who he infects as long as he gets medical care.
I Totally Agree!!!:clap::clap::clap::goodpost:

I wonder at what point you have to answer those questions for the air travel. If he suspected he might get Ebola from the lady he handled, that would explain why he might lie on the questions in order to the to the USA in case he needed treatment. If he answered those question prior to treating the woman, then he didn't lie. However, imo, he had a moral obligation not to take that flight after he handled the woman.

This guy may be an American citizen. His mother lives in NC and so does his sister. I saw his FB page and I think he went to school here.

when i posted this I did not know he had lied on the questionnaire that changes thing a bit. News reported yesterday he was not an american citizen.
