didn't you just say he bought the ticket on september 2nd without any other information proves he clearly didn't plan his trip knowing he had ebola he didn't become symptomatic till the 24 more than 21 days after the 2nd.

Yes, I did find out he bought his ticket on that date. I also said he omitted to mention he'd been in contact with people that had Ebola.

It was inevitable that with international travel being what it is, that we would have Ebola here in the US. It is not the fault of anyone, despite what fearmongering, biased outlets such as Breitbart say. Experts were saying back in the summer that we would see cases. It is merely an outcome of living in an ever more inter-connected world. There is no blame to be assigned - for example, I recall absolutely no one blaming president bush when SARS (a much more easily communicable disease) showed up in the US ten or so years ago.

Has anyone here who is in a panic about this read anytjing at all about how Ebola was contained in Nigeria? Does anyone honestly think we cannot do the same here?

A last thing to consider - if this scares you (general you, not anyone specifically), then make sure you vote for candidates who support a fully funded public health system, and don't look to cut public health funding in order to finance to "solve" "budget crises" (quotes intentional).

They said on the news this morning that not only should they test people leaving Liberia but they should be tested when they arrive at their destination esp if the flight takes over 7 hrs to land.

thats not a bad Idea but it would have changed absolutely zero in this case. You don't test positive until you start having symptoms, and actually many people don't test positive until they've had symptoms for 1 or 2 days.

Reporters are clearly getting pissed off with people at this press conference. Did anyone just hear that outburst?

Does anyone trust that the government the cdc etc are doing such a great job that we trust them with our lives or our loved ones lives? That they truly have this ebola thing under control?

The 4 were non-compliant with the request to stay home.

He's lives in the middle of a major Ebola outbreak. Was around 2 relatives? who died from it, and he thinks " Oh I'll go visit my sissy in the good ole USA" He knew exactly what he was doing comming here. If he does recover he needs to be arrested. He knew he was putting anyone he came into contact with at risk. Selfish, shameful person.

BBM:

I agree. If two of his relatives died from Ebola and he'd been exposed, he knew he had a good chance of contracting it also. My firm belief is that he hoped to be able to get here to the USA before getting sick. He probably knew that as many as three cases were successfully treated here. He knew he had a better chance of survival here, IMO.

I am just sick about this.

My sister is convinced the government is behind it. She's been telling me to look up Agenda 21. I don't really understand stuff like that but she was never like that to go along with crap like that. She told me to go to this link and watch the video: http://www.theeventchronicle.com/me...ebola-quarantine-map-matches-agenda-21-plans/

I've heard people test negative one day then positive the next so crazy.. One lady was said she was free and clear just to drop dead two days later

They weren't there when they came back to test them?

Is that Becky Oliver?

Reporter just called that one guy out about not being forthcoming about things regarding this case. Did anyone else hear that? These reporters are clearly pissed off.

When you are a facility that is able to test for ebola, but you let the guy leave with a prescription of antibiotics, you are not gaining my confidence that it can be contained here.

When that same man puts children's lives at risk, because the hospital didn't intake him, and those children return to densely populated schools, you are not gaining my confidence it can be contained here.

When you only have a handful of hospitals in the US prepared for the proper treatment, containment and trash associated with the virus, you are not gaining my confidence it can be contained here.

When you have a nurse in Dallas being quoted saying this https://twitter.com/NPRinskeep/status/517647218061225984, you are not gaining my confidence it can be contained here.

i agree the hospital should be hammer (or maybe just used as a lesson learned), but do you really think we are worse off than nigeria, do you know anything about nigeria ... go read the account of the nigerian nurse who survived I guarantee you will get down on your knees and thank the good lord you are american.
