"We are working to locate the individual and get him to a comfortable, compassionate place where we can monitor him and care for his every need for the full incubation period," Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said in a statement released Sunday.

Yeah how heartwarming, they know they will be SUED if he gets sick. Heck I see lawsuits regardless, I wonder if someone will try to sue on Duncan's behalf since he wasn't diagnosed on his first trip tot he hospital?

I read an article that said they didn't take the ambulance out of service (or sanitize it) after they transported Duncan, in fact I believe they used it for 24-48 hours so I wonder if more patients could have been infected but they can't locate ONE man and that is what the article is about. That is a HUGE screw up, the EMT workers KNEW and were wearing protective gear yet they let the ambulance stay in service without cleaning it?

BBM...................so this makes me think he may be a victim also? Ambulance & hospital should have his name etc...............he could be a traveler, tourist? Get the word out atleast a photo for help to locate him. Oh for heaven;s sake he could be dead in a hotel room for all they know. JMOO

So the 5 to 6 potential patients with ebola like symptoms this week have been tested, cleared and released. So we are still just at one man in Dallas ? That's actually great news as many days as it's been.

Or maybe he has another health condition so they know he needs medical care of some kind continuously , in addition to the possible exposure? Just speculating.
That would also mean possibly immune suppressed :(

Lucky for sure if this is the truth! Considering all the 'mistakes'

The biologist who got ebola was working in a WHO lab, which I'm sure was nothing like a grass hut etc.

See, that kind of stuff is scary. The WHO labs should be the most high tech, up to date, with all the resources and equipment ,etc. So how does this happen? I mean, I know how it happens, but with all safety measures in place, it's curious at best.

In the article from dallasnews site that popsicle posted above (sorry don't know how to link to that) it says there are reports this man is homeless, which would, imo, make it more difficult to find him

He is saying there is NO POINT in restricting travel because it won't create "zero risk", well nothing does, including the attempts to control the spread in Africa!

According to his logic which states the U.S. shouldn't even try to limit travel "because it won't produce zero risk" could be taken a step further to say there is no point trying to slow down the progress in Africa because that won't produce a "zero risk" either.

Or take it a step further and say we shouldn't try to treat infected individuals because there is no guarantee they will survive, and why bother doing something if the results aren't 100% guaranteed?

I totally agree..doing something 1/2 🤬🤬🤬 isnt going to work period.

Fox news has Dr's on about Ebola and Duncan...........

Or an illegal alien that didn't have ID or provided a fake ID with a bogus address and was then treated and released.

The fact they are stressing they will provide a "comfortable, compassionate place" makes me think they have reason to believe this person may NOT want to step forward.

Duncan is a case study and wake up call
a fever from West Africa should be considered Ebola til tested neg.
People on plane safe
Family members monitered
Dr not in favor of shutting down air travel
Dr says never believe patients allot lie
100 checked and nothing happening to them yet
2 days for blood to show Ebola

I disagree, if better travel restrictions could reduce the number of infected people entering the country from 100 to 10 that makes a HUGE difference! Especially for those folks that come in contact with the individuals!

If YOUR family members were spared because they did NOT encounter one of the sick travelers then that would make all the world of difference.

Person they can't find is 'homeless'. They want him to know they have a nice safe place for him to live while they monitor his health. Movin-on-up.:happydance:

It makes me think that the place is anything but comfortable and ' compassionate' and word or rumor has gotten out that it's akin to being in a jail cell, isolated, lock down, etc. So they fear people won't come forward to voluntarily 'commit' themselves. Speculating!

Dr says we must control in W Africa because it is doubling every month
Can live on countertops and door knobs for a couple hours
commercial time

I'm saying that too travel restrictions are definitely needed otherwise it's a half 🤬🤬🤬 effort

If he's one of the "entrenched" homeless (homeless for over 90 days, most likely suffering from an untreated mental illness and/or substance abuse issues) he probably won't be enticed by the comfort angle... imo jmo

I guess my previous post was grossly misunderstood. I 'd love to see a travel ban. I just don't know how effective it would be without ALL parties/countries/agencies on board an in agreement to the same ban at the same time. I also wonder how willing the infected countries would be to such a ban. It's one thing to not allow travelers from country X into our country. But what about a ban saying no one can leave country X ? Is that even possible? Wouldn't country X be more than willing to get people out of their country so they have less numbers to deal with in quarantine and dying, etc? I would think country X is happy to have anyone leave travel out at at time like this. And if such a ban went in, how would country X get supplies, relief, aid, doctors into their country ?

ETA Here are some answers to some of my questions above.

absolutely agree. Imo it is ridiculous to even take the chance.
Let's stop travel or restrict travel and save a few thousand lives.
