Beautiful artwork, but tears your heart apart - the grief and angst is obvious, and also the love.

I can't see him running off. Not if his parents are only 5-10 minutes behind him and his little brother even closer. It could only take seconds to bundle a lone person into a truck, especially if you have weapons to threaten them with. Why would this young lad go off exploring the Amazon on his own, when he was due to go just the next day? Why would he buy jewellery for his girlfriend if he was going to run off? I suspect foul play.

Thanks so much for that. Def much more steep than what I originally expected. Did he have a camera with him? I ask bc I do a lot of photography and I saw from the video that the overlook would make a beautiful pic. I wondered if maybe he went to the edge to take some pics and fell over & is in some sort of ravine that searchers can't get to.

It's never been reported that I know of. I do know that either his Father or Mother were taking pictures.

I was just browsing the fb page and also didn't see it. I suggested it and they answered that it's a good idea and they will pass it along.

Ecuadorean president pushes for Oklahoma teen's return

On Tuesday, Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa met with a representative of the Reiger family. The family said the South American leader made it his mission to find the teen and dozens of others missing in his country.

August Reiger has become the poster child for those missing in Ecuador.
“His face is everywhere. I don't think there's anyone down there (who) doesn't know who he is,” Cristi Reiger said.

I wonder what exactly the president will be doing to help find August. It seems that quite a few officials have been looking for him and his case is well known in Ecuador.

Um hm. And if he had a little more hair than in the shaved picture, he wouldn't look unusual at all. His bushy eyebrows wouldn't stand out so much.

I don't understand the logic of a kidnapping without a ransom after all this time - doesn't sound good... .
