UK Eliza & Henrietta Huszti, sisters both 32, CCTV captures them near a river at 2am, Aberdeen, 7 Jan 2025 #2

Officers found the second body in an area of the river near to the Victoria Bridge at about 21:05 on Friday. The first body had been found near Queen Elizabeth Bridge at about 07:55.

Now, I am curious why searches earlier netted nothing... I am sure we will hear something to try to explain this, as we move forward.
Unfortunately river searches aren't an exact science... we saw with Nicola Bulley that bodies are surprisingly easily missed. Many bodies are only found weeks later even after thorough searches, and many bodies of people known to be in the water (boating/fishing accidents etc) are never found.

The police investigation, classified as a missing persons inquiry rather than one of criminality, highlights the need for thoughtful discourse surrounding the story, emphasizing the importance of accurate information over sensational rumors

Yeah, it took the acid attacker twenty days to surface, very similar time of year, and they were looking for him very thoroughly. The Thames is also very busy, a lot of traffic, a lot of eyes watching.

It took the sisters twenty four days to be found. So I think a lot of it had to do with decomposition. Twenty or so days was what it took in both cases for the bodies to float enough to surface and be visible.

I hope the police are able to find something to explain the circumstances. From their point of view I guess they want to make sure there was no third party involvement. By that I don't mean anyone else being with them that night. It's pretty clear that's not the case here. However there may have been something going on in the background that put pressure on the sisters or they felt threatened or even had become involved in something else. Perhaps some sort of religion/cult. Probably far fetched but I imagine the police have to consider all these things.

So far publicly at least there's little to go on and the police have said as much.
Considering every possibility to explain why these beautiful young women took their lives together in such a painful, tragic way. Cult, religious influence comes to mind. The one sister’s dramatic weight loss suggests to me she may have been ill, perhaps terminally, and either couldn’t afford treatment or elected to end her life with the full support of her close sibling. I hope police find something in their apartment to explain. It is particularly difficult to fathom that they had family who could have become involved as a support system through whatever unfortunate circumstances they were dealing with. Why did they so isolate themselves? We may never know. Prayers of thanks to law enforcement and healing prayers to the family.

me too. But why?
I think because there was no evidence that the twins had gone beyond the boat houses. Another member responded to my post with information saying that LE were checking upstream as well as north and south of the harbor. Now that they have found Eliza close to Victoria bridge where they originally disappeared all I can figure is that the tide must've been moving them around.

Publicly I suspect there will not be much more released now, other than perhaps to confirm about no third party involvement, and, in time the post mortem results/cause of death.

I’m relieved the second body has been found so they can be laid to rest together.

They came into the world together and departed together

RIP ladies I’m sorry that you thought this was your only option.

Thoughts to the family

I have thought as they were both in employment, there may have been mention if one of them was so unwell. For example that she had been off work sick recently. I do wonder about their feelings of providing for family in Hungary and their salaries left little money left over. Part of my nursing career involved international recruitment of nurses when we had a massive shortfall. Active campaigns included Eastern Europe. The nurses had an incredibly strong commitment to sending a large chunk of their salaries home. The same for Filipino nurses. Our nurses from Bulgaria didn’t know what a Care home was either as they take care of their own. They often scrimped on socialising etc to ensure they were enabling family back home to have a better life. I won’t say any more as I feel as if I am disrespecting them and financial burdens are private. I am just so sad for anyone when life becomes so hard.

Please prepare to continue the discussion on a new thread.

I don't think that LE was searching upriver from where they disappeared. I may be wrong but that's the impression I am getting.
JMO
They had done so numerous times, it is rather shallow about a mile upstream, they could only search by boat for so long whilst the tide is in and then the snow melted about a week after the disappearance, the river ‘starts’ in a rather mountainous region for example the Cairngorms, so when snow starts to melt there it really impacts it far down in Aberdeen, which caused the area to be high water wise with strong currents, likely restricted divers in the water for periods of time.
