I used to love Nancy and I still occasionally watch her but she can be nasty. DH hates when I watch her because he said she has a big mouth and NEVER lets anyone else get a word in unless they agree with her. I understand her passion but she could use some restraint.

Nancy was great during the Scott Peterson trial.....but now she is becoming rather shrill and annoying--not hard to understand why her ratings are down

I think Grace got worse about the time people started checking the facts of her life story and discovered she was less than truthful/accurate about much of it.

I agree that Nancy often goes too far with her guests, I rarely watch her anymore for that very same reason. I must say though that I must not be up to date on the facts about her past, and her being less than truthful about things, would you mind enlightening me on these things or pointing me to a place I could read up on this? You got me curious abou that. TIA

There was a thread on WS about it maybe a year or so ago. Basically the media found out that some of her claims pertaining to the murder of her fiancee' were not accurate. I cannot quite remember the details. It was about the time the James Frey debacle occurred and people were comparing the two.

When Elizabeth was first found, details were revealed about some of her ordeal. What little I heard was enough to make my hair stand up on end. The very first night she was abducted, she was raped by this man. Naturally, the disgusting, nasty, dirty pervert didn't call it rape. He decided at that point she was his wife. But if that happened the first night, it's a miracle of all miracles that Elizabeth can form full sentences. My hat's off to her for pursuing justice for children of unspeakable crimes. I know... I was one of them, and I didn't have family support or the benefit of love or religion or therapy or anything else that might have helped. It made life much harder than it ever needed to be, and I've always regretted that. I wish Elizabeth the very best as she grows into adulthood.

I often wondered how the poor girl avoided becoming pregnant, I doubt that monster thought about contraception. She was fortunate that didn't happen. She has come a long way and is such a precious, sweet girl.

Heart of Texas: :blowkiss: for what you went through, Hon.

My husband just made a profound statement in my opinion. I 'm sure it's a no brainer but I didn't really connect the dots. He said that if she's saying this at 18 it gives you a peak at what her ordeal must have been like. How horrible it was. I think he's 100% right. I think most of us older folks feel so strongly about someone hurting a child because we've had a child. But for an 18 year old saying it, it speaks volumes.

Hi Anngelique...I haven't seen you in ages..have you been busy?

I sure do agree with your husband. We can only guess about what Elizabeth went through when she was with those filthy people. I think I would have nightmares for the rest of my life. They are just so depraved and dirty they really give me the creeps. I'm sure that Elizabeth was sexually abused the whole time if the filthy creep was even able to perform.

Elizabeth has always seemed like such a perfect little lady that I am suprised she didn't have a mental breakdown after that whole ordeal was over. I give credit to God first of all for her healing, then her parents and family for the love and support that she has been surrounded with, the prayes around the world and for her friends who have stood by her and for the great counselor that she must have had. She is right, she will never be the same person as she was before that night but she is such a strong girl with a ton of courage to come forward and speak about her ordeal and to want to help other children. Bless her life Lord.

I see that Elizabeth, her younger sister, and her parents went to Destiny Norton's funeral. I thought that was just so nice of them. Such an attractive family and so nice.

Hi Bobbisangel, I've been here. I don't post quite as much as I used to because I'm always in a hurry. But I read and then I run. I hope all is well with you. By the way, I agree with your post 100%. The same family that was accused of being behind this and abusing her are truly what helped her be the person she is today. And I see a remarkable young woman.

I say go on with the trial. Who cares if he's incompetant (sp?). If he truly does not understand what's going on just hook him up to the electric chair and tell him it's a ride at Disney World.

She's had a great support team and I'm so proud of her. What a beautiful young lady she is. I might just run out and pick up the PEOPLE magazine to read the entire story.

Good for her. A miracle it is. And a miracle that she's doing so remarkably well.

I'm just so glad she made it home alive when so many others dont.
