I probably would, too, but if I didn't want the laptop found and wanted to leave no paper trail to follow, I'd sell it through a "wanted" ad. I've never been to a pawn shop myself, but aren't you supposed to have ID to sell expensive items?

I know you do on jewlery as my sis did it, but that was to make sure it wasn't stolen. They run it automatically she said through the police dept. I would guess, if she had too provide ID, and if the laptop was not stolen, then it would be a mute point to the pawn shop. Now are their legit and non legit pawn shops, I dunno...

I don't know why she'd have and be paying for internet if she didn't own a computer.

she did advertise internet on craigslist...so maybe she only had a home pc. But if TS had a laptop, she'd need a wi-fi I think...and EJ maynot have had wi-fi...I'm by no means a IT person, so I could be talking out my shorts!

Yes, she had a laptop for a few very important days, but it's gone...if indeed she sold it, I wonder if there are any leads as to who she sold it to. It's interesting how there were ads found for the dogs, baby stuff, room for rent, nanny, but not to sell her laptop. I wonder if that laptop is out there somewhere intact or if it was destroyed b/c of what was on it and selling it is just a story.

good points..boo..but the ad's placed on craigs list was before the 15th or around then when she aquired the laptop. I have to believe she had a PC at home. Now what she did with it, who knows.I believe she had the laptop at least through the 24th when she updated her facebook page for the last time.. Did she sell it ??? Maybe she gave it to the couple ???

Personally, I think Elizabeth sold the laptop before she left Tempe. If you look at all she was doing from Dec 15 to Dec 18, I don't think she had time to do anything fancy with the laptop. She was a very busy girl those few days. I think it was serendipitous that she got the laptop, and that she immediately sold it for some quick cash to use for her trip. She didn't have time to put it on Craigslist before she left, so I'm thinking she just dropped by a pawn shop.

I think TS advised her to destroy it or it was pawned. LE would have been able to trace a pawn shop though, right? It could of been a pawn shop in AZ or anywhere between AZ and San Antonio. That's alot of pawn shops...

Wouldn't it be something if the reason TPS is the only one who knows about the laptop is because it was TPS that EJ sold the laptop to?

A cheap little laptop would be perfectly... disposable. EJ could use the hotel computer and the library computer to try to maintain secrecy/anonymity and TPS could use the cheap little disposable laptop. And EJ would have a few hundred extra dollars in her pocket from the sale for her trip...

Here's a thought about where the laptop is from another direction. Maybe EJ DID have it with her when she left Tempe but it was stolen along the way? She couldn't have reported it to LE as stolen because otherwise they would know where she was. If the alleged sighting of EJ along the way at a gas station in her pjs was true, perhaps she hadn't realized it was missing until she went to go to sleep that night, and was trying to backtrack to figure out where it went.

Just a thought.

she could have sold it to TS before she left, but I don't think she did. To me her compueter or having a computer kept her in contact with her world...... While she was on the run she made 2 myspace posts. (1) 12/23 AT 1:37 PM....Now she could have been at the library or the hotel computer...another post 12/24 at 12:00 am...at this time she could have only been at the hotel computer....cause I don't think there are 24 hour libaries...does a lobby at a hotel close at a certain for use of the internet...I dunno...I personally think she kept this laptop until the day she left...and I don't think she sold it...don't ask me why I think that, I just do......

well,I shall ask, why get a laptop in or around the 15th and ditch it on/before the 18th...whomever gave it to her gave it to her for a reason. Was it to sell for money, who knows...if that were the case ...whomever gave it to her could have just given her $ 50.00 or so, becasue laptops are a dime a dozen...For some reason I just don't see that...I think whomever gave it to her, knew in advance what she had planned...therefore this person had the knowledge enough to set up her laptop to her own personal settings from her home pc...very easy to do..I couldn't do it...but I do have IT people who work for me who can do in in a matter of hours....

When you read these threads collectively, and look at them overall, you see this huge vast network of people, this cast of thousands in an enormous conspiracy, all in cahoots with EJ. She is one popular and powerful girl.

Everybody's a bad guy. And you know what? by that logic, we're all bad guys too since we follow this case. By that logic, we all knew in advance what EJ was going to do, and we all helped her too.
