Hard to say which would be scarier, a ghost sending e-mails or some crazy stalker knowing all this stuff.

A few months after my brother died, I received some emails from one of his email addresses...I don't know if they were hacked or what...they seemed to be "junk" mails, but the first time, my heart did stop...

It must have given you an awful shock...
if it's random junk mail and not personal it sounds like one of those viruses that sends mail taking the "sender's" and the recipient's addresses in the address book of the infected computer.
