Maybe he was testing out some of his medical theories.

He then changed direction and qualified as an Early Years Primary School teacher. These days, he works as a locum and as the children and youth worker at his church.

So he's been around young children a lot.

It makes you wonder if he has tried this before and somehow got away with it.
Yep. I really doubt at 76 this is the first time he's tried do something like this.

That's concerning.

I'm calling more to it then sedatives to calm the kids down. At 76 he would know better than to do something like that especially when the job is not crucial at his age.

So I'm calling something sinister and I'm sure we find out soon.

Keep in mind, at his age, he could have some form of dementia too.

Certainly a possibility. It's also possible that at his age he is in the early stages of dementia and that this has had an effect on his behaviour. No doubt much more will come out once he goes to trial.

It's worth mentioning that vets in the UK have a high suicide risk. Access to suitable drugs and the long term ongoing stress of having to put animals down, in some cases perfectly healthy animals just because they are no longer wanted, takes its toll on their mental health. Many therefore leave the profession.

I wondered if there was a publication ban on any previous convictions, but then I realised he probably hasn't been convicted (of anything to do with children) as wouldn't pass the DBS checks.

But maybe there are allegations on file that never reached prosecution stage, hence the need for remand.

Moo.

Some of his views from 8 years ago o_O
Jonathan Ruben over 8 years ago

I’m sorry that Arlo still believes that the sun goes round a flat earth like the rest of the veterinary establishment. It is quite clear from anyone’s observation that the sun goes round the earth. We see it moving across the sky every day. This is why 17th century scientists dismissed Gallileo’s ideas. Dissing something you don’t understand is foolish. I personally can see no scientific evidence for homeopathy, yet it works. We are only beginning to find out exactly how many orthodox medications actually achieve their clinical effect. Gabapentin being one example. Tramadol used as a pain killer achieves most of its effect by mimicking the action of Prozac.
This gives me the vibe that he thinks very highly of himself and thinks he knows better than others. Why he sedated boys, I can only shudder at the reasons, but I'm thinking he felt entitled to do it. imo

Also wondering if any other of the Christian youth group leaders were in on it or involved

What a vile man. Imagine how many other victims there are!
Did no other adults who knew about this sweet 'game' find it weird?

The defendant, for at least 27 years, has run a holiday camp," she said.

"There is a long history of children feeling sick at the camp over many years."

Mrs Prior KC added: "This year his stepson had concerns about what was going on, for good reason.

"They decided to have a look in the defendant's belongings."

Mrs Prior KC said items including baby oil, Vaseline and syringes were found, and his stepson notified the police about his concerns.

Suspected this would be the case. Those poor boys, there will no doubt be other victims who might not have any recollection of the abuse. What a vile creature, somewhere that was supposed to be fun for the kids and parents trust.
