He then placed a phone call to his father the following day, the last known contact made with him, police said.
A FLOCK camera in suburban West Dundee pinged his vehicle, a 2008 Honda hatchback, the following day.
His car was later found in South Elgin but he remains missing.

Wojdyla is described as 5-feet-11 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 lbs.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding a Plainfield man who has been missing since late July.

Erik Wojdyla, 22, of the 14000 block of Denton Court, was last seen Saturday, July 26. His last known contact was a phone call with his father the following day, according to the sheriff’s office.

On Monday, July 28, at about 5:40 p.m., a FLOCK camera detected Wojdyla’s vehicle — a 2008 Honda hatchback — traveling on Route 31 in West Dundee, the sheriff’s office said.

MISSING PERSON-PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUESTED

The Will County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in locating 22-year-old Erik Wojdyla of Plainfield.

Erik resides in the 14000 block of Denton Court in Plainfield and was last seen on Saturday, July 26, 2025. His last known contact was a phone conversation with his father on Sunday, July 27, 2025.

On Monday, July 28, 2025, at approximately 5:40 p.m., Erik’s vehicle, a 2008 Honda hatchback, was detected by FLOCK cameras traveling on Route 31 in West Dundee, Illinois. Erik's vehicle was recovered in South Elgin, however, Erik remains missing.

Erik is described as 5’11” tall, weighing approximately 180 lbs.

Anyone with information regarding Erik Wojdyla’s whereabouts is urged to contact Detective McDonald with the Will County Sheriff’s Office at (815) 727-8575 ext. 4934.

His address on Denton court belongs to someone with his last name, age 47. I imagine it's a parent or other relative. At that age it's not unusual to live at home as you attend college or are new to the workforce. He has no traffic tickets or court records on file in either Will or Kendall County (Plainfield area.) South Elgin, where his car was found, has a much lower crime rate than much of Chicago, so that by itself isn't a red flag for me personally. It's less than an hour from his home.

Just a note: If you look at the uncropped photo from his Driver's license it looks like his hair is pulled back in a ponytail, and may have been fairly long (shoulder length or longer) when the photo was taken. Hopefully the other picture provided with shorter hair is more current to help identify him, if seen.
