Erin - Texas Bound

Glad you made it home safely DD. Our back yard looks like a lake... praying Dean doesn't head this way. :(

I hope Dean doesn't head this way either. Looks like if it does, it will be the lower end of Texas that gets hit. We had to pick up a kid that flew into Hobby. That was the only reason we were out on the roads. The roads were horrible and his flight was delayed 9 hours on top of everything else.

Oh no... you drove down to Hobby in that mess yesterday?!?! Ugh!

If Dean does hit to the south of us, we'll get the brunt of the feeder bans. This is a BIG storm... it's always best to be on the left side of the storm. Although I certainly wouldn't wish anymore on the Beaumont/Lake Charles - or New Orleans area for that matter - either.

Guess all we can do is wait and pray...

In Fredericksburg/Gillespie County (very central Texas) we were expecting 1-2 inches per the weather forecasters, we actually had 10 inches in most of the county. Very interesting though, no one was killed that Im aware of, everyone stayed VERY close to home, town was at a standstill once the rains hit. The storm basically travelled up to San Antonio and then up Interstate 10.

Eventhough we had so much rain over the summer, when those 95-99 degree days hit last week, the ground dried up terribly, I was trying to use the shovel out in the field and I thought that I had hit concrete. I am physically clearing 7 acres so the softer the ground the happier I am!!

Txmom, send an inch, or two, our way. This year seems to either be a deluge, or a drought, no in-betweens. Do you want to borrow my tiller? I'd be renting a tractor if I were you; I can't imagine needing that much exercise. Anyway, glad it rained for you; it should make the job a heck of a lot easier.
