The mansion in pv: 7620 north foothills drive south, paradise valley 85253. Christmas 2011.
Aha! I actually didn't think of that. I have just heard over and over about the leaving of the body out so as to compromise evidence. It's heavily relied on when listing the many perceived injustices.
BBM
Do you think leaving Rebecca's dead, naked, bound and gagged body for 13 hours in the hot sun did not compromise evidence?
Would you list "the many perceived injustices" please?
Yes, I did think leaving her body out was unusually disgraceful. When I was reminded that LE had not foreseen the media helicopters, it made me reconsider the issue. I don't know how many crime scenes you've seen, but I've witnessed 0. So, it may not be as unusual as we think.

a hanging in a mansion that had previously had an accidental fall of the homeowner's son who was still in icu at the hospital and the police did not foresee the possibility of media helicopters coming to the scene? Really? Then perhaps those police officers need to go back to school. Common sense would tell me that of course the media would get wind of it and fly over head. Then we also have the lack of protocol when it came to the crime scene, the lack of collecting evidence and the lack of protecting evidence while destroying it by the police officers. We also have the me that couldn't bother to come to the scene until how many hours later? All of it points to shoddy police work, to say the least, and possibly a cover up in the making.
Moo
Actually, there's no excuse for such a serious mistake. Any LEO, supervisor or otherwise, should know leaving RZ's body outdoors in the sun would compromise evidence and make it more difficult for the ME to determine time and cause of death. Of course they knew it was a violation of her privacy and egregious disrespect for a dead person.
You would have to go pretty far into rural, small town America to find a police department so poorly trained that they didn't realize the error of such a move. LE from a major urban center, full of military installations teeming with experts, most certainly knew they should protect the crime scene. The question remains - why didn't they?
What was going on that day that paralyzed the LE apparatus that they were unable to perform the most basic tasks at a death investigation? I'd love to see the phone, email and text records for SDSO and Coronado PD for that day.

I would love to see this too. It was a Wednesday. I could possibly understand 13 hours on a busy weekend but what was going on on a Wednesday that precipitated a 13 hour delay?
Exactly. And how about letting Paul Pfingst inside the crime tape, and exchanging some good ole boy back clapping with a prominent defense attorney? Who was "all smiles" in the widely publicized picture? Oh, and letting that defense attorney inside the crime scene MANY hours before the ME's office finally showed up? Jose Baez wanted inside the crime scene in the Caylee Anthony murder, too-- but LE and the Judge rightfully said "no".
Maybe Paul Pfingst, the ex-prosecutor, (who knows a great deal about preserving evidence, and crime scene management) could have mentioned that LE should have erected a tent over the nude, exposed body? I wonder if that was ever discussed, whie they were smiling and back clapping? Or we're they too busy being awed in the presence of PP, to remember that there was a nude, dead woman just steps away from them? I guess they were just happy to see each other-- maybe planning to get some coffee or something? We're they just saying "Hey--thanks for stopping by, Paul. We have it all taken care of from here"?
What a distraction, at the very LEAST.
That pic of PP just says so much to me about the tone and atmosphere at the crime scene in the earliest hours.
My best guess is that PP was there that day to taint the investigation by quickly putting in everyone's ear how a sweet little 6 year old boy was in ICU, not expected to live. How he was under the sole care of the woman who hung herself out in the courtyard. Clearly she had some mental issues, she hurt this small boy. Clearly JS wanted nothing to do with her and now she was taking one last stab at dear JS trying to make her suicide look like murder! What a hateful person! Unbelievable!
That's my opinion and my best guess based on what I know to be the facts in this case. I don't believe any good or bad cop would have cared much about how long it took to get the tent up or the body covered. Child abusers are the lowest form of life. The problem of course being we all know now from autopsy reports that Max wasn't abused. RZ didn't abuse him. She wasn't mentally ill and she had no reason to take her own life. He did however have benzodiazepines in his blood stream. Why? Why does a 6 year old have benzodiazepines in his blood? That's a question I would like to know the answer to. If Max didn't die, Rebecca wouldn't have either.. These are all my opinions and only my opinions.

Thanks, mittymick! You are fast!Yes, you are correct ^
"Also, the positive benzodiazepine is from medically administered benzos in the stabilization and intubation process. Nothing malicious there." K_Z From the Max's scooter thread. Post #161. That would be the Max's scooter thread *Lash* started.
Hi Peaceful. Love your name!
The idea of benzos in Max's little body really bothered me, also, but KZ explained that this kind of drug would have been used by EMTs and ER staff as they worked to establish an airway for him. I'll try to find KZ's post about it - BRB.
BBM: I did a little research and OCD was the only medical reason I could find (on Google) for treating a 6 year old with Benzodiazepines for which he would need a prescription. If he didn't have a prescription, I think Dina would have been very accusatory toward JS and Rebecca for giving him that drug. If she didn't question it, then she knows why it was in his blood.
