Everybody stop!!!!ws will not be used to organize protest

Thank you Tricia! I was totally frustrated with what was happening yesterday on the board and even hit the button over a picture posted. People don't realize that as soon as they hit the "post" button their words are out there for the world to see outside of WS.

I'm a newbie, but I appreciate your work. I've read some posts on some other websleuths forums, and it seems to me that Caylee's forum has a much different atmosphere.

Glad to see you are trying to keep her forum respectable, as well.

:)

Thank you Tricia. Sometimes people seem to forget what we are all really here for.

With an average of 5,000 posts per day it's not a good idea to assume we're immediately aware of what is being posted. Using the alert button really helps, along with NOT quoting and responding to posts that are out of line.

Thank you all for keeping WS on track. All points of view are welcome, disrespect is not.

Thanks for the clarification Adnoid, duly noted and sage advice.

YEAH! Websleuths is back. I thought I stumbled into that nasty site again! Thanks Tricia

I am so glad for this thread. I was beginning to think this was a "we hate Casey website." I was under the impression that WS was more respectable than other sites. I hope it will be used properly and again thought of as such.

I am so glad you responded to this craziness.
I know I don't post a lot, but I do read everything.
Last night I was catching up and it just blew my mind the things that were being said and planned. I even told my bf that I didn't know if I'd be able to stay around websleuths because I don't care for the mob mentality and that's exactly what it seemed to be when I was reading their plans.

Thank you so much, Tricia.
Once again I'm amazed at your character and respect what you do even more.

Thank you tricia! I was appalled at some of the posts here yesterday.

Wow, I guess I missed those posts. Glad you got a handle on it though.

Take the protesting plans somewhere else.

Do not drag everyone into this.

:boohoo:

My suggestion would be to organize and help Joseph Jordan SEARCH for Caylee. That would be so much more productive. Him and others have gone day after day searching and we need to concentrate our efforts to helping someone who is out there on the front lines doing the work.

It is obvious that the Anthony's are not going to dirty their hands searching, but concerned individuals like us need to put our manpower where our mouths are.

[email protected] - Email Joseph and ask him HOW you can help.

There is also a thread here about the ongoing searches.

Let us do the work because we want to find Caylee.
Just be sure to check out Tricia's other notice regarding this.

I guess I missed that. Besides it’s to far for me to drive. LOL

I think everybody should also keep in mind that when you arrange through a web site to meet up with another poster, even if you believe you are meeting for a good cause, you are arranging to meet up with a total stranger. Be cautious.

I want to say, to the people in this thread who are genuinely concerned....

Last night was a slow news night until some news seeped out after the vigil late last night.

To my knowledge, no one was genuinely organizing any protest. If they were, I must have missed it while I was off doing other stuff. I'd be no part of it.

I mentioned that people at Topix were sending empty gift cards to the Anthonys, which was funny to me, as was that the Dreamin' Demons sent a pizza to the Anthonys with the salutation "love and decomp" (read Tricia's correspondence on this--the Dreamin' Demons admin contacted her, and they had a jovial email exchange.)

We fantasized and laughed about hiring a skywriter to write "Where's Casey" over the Anthonys' house (but no one seriously considered doing so) or sending a singing telegram to Casey. We joked about what song he would sing to her. We laughed about the rock band serenading Casey last night.

But I didn't see any real organizing of any protest, and I hope that this post puts everyone's minds at ease. We were guilty of joking when there was truly nothing much else to discuss. And I think that most of us who were discussing this are genuinely frustrated with the Anthonys' stonewalling.

My apologies to anyone who took us seriously, and who thought that any of us had the means or desire to actually interfere in this case. I'm an observer. I've had no plans but to stay an observer.

Sincerely, respectfully,

QuickAttack

I read here yesterday until I thought my eyes would bleed! Still I didn't see any of this. I have no idea how y'all keep up on here at all.

No, QuickAttack, I don't think it was those discussions that prompted the start of this thread. There was a poster last night who is now on time-out who was geniunely organizing some sort of protest outside the Anthony home.

Well, I missed the madness, and I'm glad of it. It's a shame people have nothing better to do than organize protests, about what, I don't have a clue.

Going to look for some facts that lead me to believe Casey knows where her child is. JMO.

Sadly, I got 3 PM's from Newbies that were concerned, scared to report the poster "rallying" this activity. I advised, chances are Tricia or mods are on this or will be so it's ok not to stick your kneck out, that is the integrity of WS. Thanks for making me look like I knew what I was talking about for once.

Thank for posting this Blink. I want to assure the newbies that we want you to alert us. Even if you are not sure about a certain post alert us anyway. You won't get in trouble and no one will know you alerted us but the mods and admins.

I can't stress how important this is. Like Adnoid said, there are times we are not on the board at all and if something like this breaks out we need to know.

You can hit the Alert Button, you can PM me or email me. My email is below my signature. A few of you even have my cell number.

Don't hesitate to use any of these options if you see a problem. Start with the Alert Button then go from there.

The only reason I knew about the "protest" is a poster emailed me. I happened to check my email when I got home and found it.

One other thing, You can make great friends on boards like this but please, BE CAREFUL. Always meet in a public place and take someone with you. Never alone. NEVER give anyone private infomation until you totally trust them.

I worry about ya kids. I can't help it ;)

I would be ashamed to be associated with anyone harassing a family with billboards, signs, shouting, whatever. It's rude and unproductive.

I'm not supportive of the way Casey and her parents are handling the situation, but I'm pretty sure that any kind of protest would only add to the chaos, not get them to start being 100% truthful.

I wish people here would stop even joking about it. No use in repeating the same bad idea over and over and over!

Like there aren't enough distractions in this case already. Let's add to the police workload by sending them over to disperse a crowd. I don't understand what this was suppose to accomplish.
