I found this site while I was doing my own couch sleuthing into this case through a search engine and I was so impressed at first because I thought OMG, I've found my people. They genuinely care about this stuff too and are doing the kind of behind the scenes research I thrive on searching for the truth and kudos on that, So I signed up to participate and share some ideas I was having but then all of a sudden it changed from that in depth theorizing to petty slurs and attacks on each other and on the players in this case and even the media who are getting the info out there to the general public. This kind of negative banter made me think maybe I didn't belong here. From my point of view no one knows what happened yet so its still up for discussion right, if we just assume the little girl is dead, then perhaps we are leaving out other possibilities. My hat is off to a lot of you who really get out there and digg and bring back valid info.
As a newbie, one thing I would like to see is the cut back on the inside jokes on the general discussion that have no bearing whatsoever on the case, it takes too long to sift through that stuff to get to the nitty gritty that some of us are here for. Still learning my way around...

I want to say, to the people in this thread who are genuinely concerned....

Last night was a slow news night until some news seeped out after the vigil late last night.

To my knowledge, no one was genuinely organizing any protest. If they were, I must have missed it while I was off doing other stuff. I'd be no part of it.

I mentioned that people at Topix were sending empty gift cards to the Anthonys, which was funny to me, as was that the Dreamin' Demons sent a pizza to the Anthonys with the salutation "love and decomp" (read Tricia's correspondence on this--the Dreamin' Demons admin contacted her, and they had a jovial email exchange.)

We fantasized and laughed about hiring a skywriter to write "Where's Casey" over the Anthonys' house (but no one seriously considered doing so) or sending a singing telegram to Casey. We joked about what song he would sing to her. We laughed about the rock band serenading Casey last night.

But I didn't see any real organizing of any protest, and I hope that this post puts everyone's minds at ease. We were guilty of joking when there was truly nothing much else to discuss. And I think that most of us who were discussing this are genuinely frustrated with the Anthonys' stonewalling.

My apologies to anyone who took us seriously, and who thought that any of us had the means or desire to actually interfere in this case. I'm an observer. I've had no plans but to stay an observer.

I LOVE dreamindemon's owner and some of their posters are hilarious and their board is very lively to say the least (LOL) but the pizza thing is something we would never do.

Please understand where Websleuths is coming from. I hope no one thinks I am acting like a Nazi trying to control you. Not at all. I only want WS to remain a very respectable board where ideas are welcome and the mob mentality is not.

You did find the right place my dear. But some of us have been here for so long that we get a bit jaded. It's only natural.

I do understand what you are saying about the banter and inside jokes. It can be frustrating when you don't know what is going on and you are only trying to read up on information.

Websleuth posters, please take Wing's concerns to heart and remember this when posting.

One other thing, You can make great friends on boards like this but please, BE CAREFUL. Always meet in a public place and take someone with you. Never alone. NEVER give anyone private infomation until you totally trust them.

I'd also add:

If you arrange to meet someone you 'met' online.... always make sure you leave a NOTE at home with that person's Internet User Name & any other info you have about the person.... name, address, phone number.... the site(s) you know them from.

You can never be too cautious, imo.

Any type of threat or prank will only fuel Cindy to tell the media that the threats are from the people that have Caylee. So, don't give the Anthonys or Baez any ammunition to twist the truth any more that it has been. LP drives me crazy with his nonsense. Baez won't let Casey tell anybody anything!

I hope the dust settles soon. There is a way to be respectful and still make your point while posting...this site is usually so good about letting you voice your own opinion, but every once in a while a board starts to take a nasty turn...

This case is getting to everyone. It is so frustrating. I understand this more than you know.

But please, stop with the plans or talking about the plans to annoy Casey or the Anthony. It makes Websleuths look like a mean gossip board.

If anyone wants to organize a protest because they HATE CASEY then I can't stop you but I will not allow you to use Websleuths as a gathering place to organize this. You can do what you want but you can't use Websleuths or its name in any way shape or form with anything without permission.

I read a post here about another forum sending blank Target cards to the family as a joke. I think that is childish, mean, and does nothing but make people look like jerks.

Please discuss the case, not how much you HATE CASEY and how many people are going to show up to protest. Honestly, if this protest happens it will accomplish nothing but make you look, well, hateful. And Websleuths wants NO PART OF IT.

I was part of the discussion last night and I would and have not ever tried to organize a protest. I only mentioned things the neighbors could do to out pressure on Casey. No where did I say that Casey should be charged with murder or anything else. I do not live in Florida, never been there, and don't know anyone in Florida. We were simply letting off frustration about Casey's behavior and it showed. Anything I was talking about possibly doing as me personally and would never in any way, shape or form involve WS. And at the bottom of one of my posts, I said anything to get precious Caylee back. That is my focus. I don't HATE Casey, I don't even know her.

I, like some, have changed my mind more than once about what did or did not happen to Caylee. I love it here and am personally sorry if I offended anyone. I even said that it seemed to me it was becoming a bash Casey thread. You guys are the Mods and I agree with your duty to step up and whack us around when you feel the need to. I was personally disgusted with the pizza thing I heard about. I didn't think that was funny at all.

Let law enforcement do its job. Protests are counterproductive, and only add to the headeaches of LEA.

In God's good time, Casey Anthony will be rearrested, charged with murder, and prosecuted.

Thank you Tricia. It upsets me when I read people spitting off hatred and saying how they want to get their hands on Casey. I have read users saying they want to punch or slap Casey. Of course these members are usually new to the community. I am new and not here to post threats or read them. When I read posts or threads like above mentioned, I think of how many people need anger management. And, it has led to my visiting the site less and less.

Wings, I have felt much the same as you. It isn't even just the inside jokes that bother me. What bothers me the most are the people who make fun of this case... the make jokes about it all and make fun of the people involved in the case. It seems like there has been more gossip than facts here. There are people who come up with a lot of good information that get passed by because of people who are here just to socialise and have fun.

I was abducted by my estranged biological father. It took LE just over five weeks to find me. Luckily for my mother and I, my friend was over at our place when he just showed up and took me. She was also a witness that my mother did not just hand me over or abandon me. Who knows what my mother would have been accused of. I know what he accused her of, when they finally caught him and removed me -covered in grease- from a bait boat at 3am. I was only five and remember all of it. Even from that experience and much worse, I do not hate any of the people in this case. LE did do their job. HOWEVER, it should not have taken them five weeks considering they were given plenty of information and all IMMEDIATELY. I am still grateful they found me.
