I thought of a couple of things as I tried to catch up here.

Janet was found face up, I think that's in the warrant, but we don't know how Raven found her do we? If she was sitting at the computer or face down or in another position he could have moved her to see if there were something to do to help her.
Except then it would be clear to him that she had been stabbed, and not shot.

When I was 13 my mother died in our home. My sister called 911 while my Dad and brother tried CPR. And I ran outside and stood on the curb waiting to see a police car, fire truck SOMEONE! too save my mom. I wanted to be out there to flag them down, save time, get them too her as fast as I could. There is NO way they could have missed our house. But I didn't want them to have to waist one precoius second looking to see if it was our house. THIS IS US! HELP! I belive this is how Raven felt on that night as well.

Here we have several fields side by side, so all are lit almost every night, even if all arent scheduled to be used. I know my daughters softball team often has games that start as late as 8:50pm, so guess I dont give much thought to the night game aspect of things.

true enough........so, he finds janet, all that blood....panics, thinking the killer may still be around ( or whatever) grabs kaiden...runs outside , calls 911, and waits for LE...

...sure be nice if we could hear that 911 call.....
Or goes through the motions of a panicked spouse, forgetting to take Kaiden out of his crib for added credibility.

CONFIRMED. There was carpet in the office. It's been removed durring clean up.

While I was out today, I noticed an Acura in front of me with NC plates. It was a young guy wearing a baseball cap, and it got me to thinking about the Abaroas and their vehicles. If vehicles were seized during a search, would they be listed on the search warrant? Could they be the missing items #1, 2, and 3?
Hi Jersey - If you look at the very first page of the warrant, it's one that's a pro forma type thing, fill in the blanks... towards the bottom, there's a place to list what if any vehicles are to be searched. The only vehicle listed is the gray Dodge Durango... and later in the invesigator's narrative, he refers to there being a vehicle, the Durango, in the driveway on the south side of the house. All of which make me think that the Durango was the only vehicle on the premises....which, I've always found odd...

Rooster, this is why I had my original question. I know our home has the house numbers painted on the curbs, as is fairly standard around here, yet if we have a function after dark, I almost always tie something to our mailbox because the house numbers are so hard to read at night. For what it's worth, our 911 system also recommends having someone waiting outside for their arrival if at all possible. Now, was this the case here? I have no idea.

Is that normal - 24 hours?

I would think so, considering the collection process that is "supposed" to be followed.

Hi Rooster! Thanks for that - a couple of questions though.. do you know if ALL of the office carpet was removed? And, if so, by whom? LE, or, the kind folks cleaning up the house?

And, do you know IF the stairs were carpeted? And if so, again, was the carpet removed by LE, or cleaning folks??

Your confirmation of things are ALWAYS helpful! Thanks again..

Scheduled games tend to run that late and require lighting, I agree. I've played in many myself, which is probably why I was thinking lit field just as you were.

But we're thinking that he played in a pick-up game; something that was not sanctioned by any kind of supporting group. I'm thinking it would not be easy, if it is even possible, to find soccer fields that are lit just in case someone wants to play.

We know there was carpet in the office. I was questioning whether there was carpet covering the stairs at the time of the murder.

Right, he could have played in a pick-up game that was played in a complex where there was a scheduled game of some sorts being played, hence, the lit field.

It sure is odd ... maybe the perp stole the car? Anyone know if there'd been a BOLO for a car matching the description of Janet's car during that time period?

But if they were impouding the cars, would they have listed them to be searched? I assumed that the Durango was searched on-site and thus listed the way it was. But if vehicles were actually being taken away, would they be listed under search or in the inventory?

...i just searched that entire warrant looking for the word "standard" elsewhere...

...it should be SOP for LE to print clearly on those forms!

When I lived in Philly, the parks, playgrounds, fields were completely lit at night for safety reasons. The lights would come on automatically at dusk, and turn off automatically at dawn. I think it's probably impossible to determine lights/no lights or the significance of such in this case. :banghead:

Again, since the soccer alibi would be so easy for police to verify, Im assuming at this point they have done so. If he had lied to them about being at the game, that would be more than enough to get an arrest warrant, IMO.

Another thing I'd really like to know ... If this was a pick-up game and not a regularly scheduled league, was it a normal deal for Raven to play in pick-up games?

But if it was a pick-up game, would they be able to verify his presence there? If he was playing with a bunch of strangers, I don't think that those people would necessarily be able to be tracked down.

Good question.

With him being an avid soccer player, I could see him playing at every opportunity, pick-up...scheduled...whatever.
