Is the trackball big enough that it could possibly be mistaken for a telephone in photographs?
........we can only see some of the phone or mouse in the pic...

...to me , it looked quite like my own (black) mouse....(a 14 cm. long optical cordlesss....) mine has a silver "back" button on the inside left...and sits on a black pad...

...or..........could be a phone.....

Yes . . . they can be quite large. I would say it could quite easily be about the same size as a telephone. I had one (older model) at work, and it just took too much space on my desk top, so I went back to the regular old corded mouse.

This blood is from Raven Running to get his phone out of the durango...After he found Janet...tried to save her:( ...ran outside(getting blood on the door) to get his phone from the Durango. The door was locked...back inside to get Janets phone or keys to the Durango.

........if that IS a land-line phone by the computer...( in the same room where he found janet ...)........why not just grab it and call 911?

...or, if he had left his phone in the durango, why not just use janet's cell phone in the first place? ( instead of the running in and out..)

...i'd think, that in a crisis, you'd go for the first available phone and not leave to go back outside to get your own from the car....( and ,if his phone was left in the car charging, why go for that phone at all ?)

Me either. But he might be someone who, at the least, knew the house, knew what rooms the family was using for what purposes, knew that RA often was out playing soccer in the evening, knew the house was secluded, presumably knew JA well enough that she'd let him in. Would he feel like JA "owed" him something for the "free" rent? I dunno. IIRC, he's one of the very few people who were quoted by name in the initial media reports.

Hoppy
1. Do we know where the landlord lived? He may have lived across town or in a different town....how would he know Raven was leaving that night?

2. I believe he owns more than one rental, wouldn't the other renters (who are public) possibly be in danger and therefore the statement about the public having no need to fear be false?

3. I have several rentals and I have NO IDEA how the rooms are. Once the place is rented, I usually have no reason to go back. When you are in business of rentals, you just don't pop in to see how they decorated the place.

4. I can totally understand the discount of rent. He just rented it to them in August. Raven probably came into the office......crying...complaining about the bad breaks in life, etc......and they worked out a deal......such as you can have free rent for February and March, and we will make that up later once you both have established jobs and get back on your feet. It would be interesting to see what they actually worked out. It is hard to rent a house to a nice family. It would cost the owner more to go through an unlawful detainer action to remove them (losing months of rent) and rerenting then it is to work out a "deal" with the current tenants. My guess is that the landlord had no idea why Raven lost his job. He probably told them they both were let go from the company.

I could be wrong, but I just don't see the guy doing this over working out a deal on two months of rent AND the public having no need to fear.

I dont get Janet's family allowing Raven to stay with a family member either, but they are doing so. If I thought my BIL or SIL had killed someone, no way in hell would they step foot in my house, let alone sleep there.

Peter Greijn -- Work address

We cant post phone numbers or addresses.
I'm sorry about that.

The Work address of Mr. Greijn (Referral Realty) was already posted on the timeline of addresses thread and I found the home address on a public site. But I will remember that for the future.

In any event, both are in Raleigh.

Thanks Julia!
My question to everyone is...do we think the police are suspecting the landlord? If so, why would they let him make any sort of statement to the media. I mean, aside from the one interview with some of Janet's family members (which barely discusses the case), the Landlord has been one of the only sources who actully knew Raven and Janet who has said somethng about the murder to the media. If the idea that the police are "hushing" everyone else, then why is he allowed to speak? Unless, he's not a POI.

........my undestanding...

...we have never seen anything confirmed on just WHO is, or isn't, a POI...raven included.....
...raven lawyered-up at the very beginning, so i would assume it's his lawyer advising him not to speak to media......

...LE.............i don't think they "hush-up" anyone................they want any and everyone to talk........

...the landlord....i think the media tracked him down a day or 2 after the murder.................he gave his statement........."oh...........yes, the abaroas.....fell on hard times...we worked out a rental agreement....subsidized rent for a couple of months while they got back on their feet......"

That's been my question since the day it was announced. We, of course, don't know if they think Raven killed their daughter. They have not made a statement one way or another. If they don't, then they probably see no reason why they shouldn't help him. If the do, !

or...they are struggling with it.........did he ? didn't he ? is it possible ?

...and, for kaiden;s sake , are keeping him close by....afraid he'd run and take kaiden.....?

The latter I feel is a strong possibility. Especially if they think he may have to serve time for the embez. charges...keep him very close.

Yes, but remember that with Raven comes Kaiden. I'm sure at this point, they want to be close to that baby. I'd be willing to house him, even if I didn't like him because of the pain he caused my daughter, IF it meant that I would get to see that baby. He's the only live memorial of their daughter. You know they want to keep him close.

I would be worried he would get to thinking I "know something", and may decide I need to have an accident or committ suicide. Nope, no killer in my house...period.

They may not have a choice. As far as we know, Janet was the current bread-winner. Raven probably can't afford a new place and I'm sure her family wouldn't want the baby on the street.

So let him live with his own family.

I just wish we knew more about what happened at the meeting on Friday. Perhaps he has to stay within a certain mile radius (and his family is out west or in Maine, I think). That would limit his options even more.

I thought his family lived in UT. If that's the case, perhaps Raven can't travel anywhere due to LE restrictions (?). Again, I wouldn't imagine a grandmother who has just lost her daughter want to deny housing to the grandbaby. murderer or not, Raven is the father of Kaiden. And Kaiden's all she has left of Janet.

Perhaps, but there is just no way I would put another of my children in danger by having him around. It would hurt not to see the baby, but I just couldnt sleep knowing one of my children was living with a killer.

...except his 'own family' is on the opposite coast.....again, they want kaiden with them.....( plus raven has to stick around for the embezzlement charge.....)( or at least he did have to , prior to his case being bumped to july 22nd..)

...also, even with laci's family...........( in the beginning...) they couldn't say enough good things about scott.....they were behind him 100%....

...i don't know.......laci's family focussed on finding her/being there for scott.........maybe janet's family is doing the same.....focussed on her murder/her memory.....and they can't think yet that her own husband could be responsible.....thought processes take time in tragic circumstances.....

...i can see raven charming them right now...............feeding off of the sympathy..........

...if they ( janet's family ) DO have these thoughts............speculations etc where they think raven could have murdered janet........i would hope they're in touch with LE on this.....
