Circumstances of disappearance :
Ewa Wołyńska returned from school on 5 April 2002 after 2 p.m., she was in a good mood and her behavior did not cause any concern. She asked her mother if she could go out with friends. After two hours of fun, she went home and asked if she could go back and play outside for a little longer. Grażyna Wołyńska wasn’t sure. She didn't want to let her daughter go because it was getting cold. Her daughter begged her so she told her to dress warmly and gave her permission to go.
Meanwhile, the mother took care of her youngest daughter, Weronika. From time to time, she looked out the window to see what Ewa was doing. At one point, she noticed her in the company of a girl she didn't know before. She pointed out that they were very similar. The "stranger" had darker black hair and a jacket with distinctive red elements. They seemed to be around the same age, even though she noticed the other girl was a little bit smaller then Ewa. They walked away together towards the forest. That was the last time Ewa's mother saw her. The 10-year-old did not return home.
It was almost 7 p.m. Usually, Ewa always came home to watch the evening show. She never missed it. This time, however, she did not show up at the house. Her parents thought she was probably watching the film at her friend Magda's, the neighbors' daughter. So they left a note on the table indicating that they were going on a little shopping trip with the other children. When they returned at 8 p.m., Ewa was still missing. Then they realized that something bad could have happened. Józef, Ewa's father, ran to the neighbors, her mother started calling family and friends. Without any effect. Nobody saw Ewa.
The parents reported the girl missing around 10 p.m. and the police immediately took up the matter. The search began with the participation of all services and tracking dogs - even two army platoons arrived and a special rescue unit from Gdańsk. Several hundred people in total. The river has also been searched several times. Nothing was working.
It has been speculated that Adrian may be linked to Ewa's disappearance. M., who was behind the kidnapping of Maja in Wołczkowo in 2015. However, no evidence was found to confirm this thesis.
During the investigation, it turned out that on that day and a few days earlier, a suspicious car with foreign registration was driving in the area. Many neighbors believed that Ewa could have been kidnapped and taken out of the country or the victim of a pedophile ring. However, these hypotheses could not be confirmed either.
