I truly don't believe anyone really cares what color they monsters are. We are all aware that ALL different races, nationalities, genders commit despicable crimes. I think the debate here stems from people trying to identify these particular men.

Respectfully, but over the past couple days, there have been numerous media articles, numerous photos, numerous posts on various forums (including here) pointing out "foreign" looking (i.e. not white) bystanders as potential suspects.

IMO, I believe there are indeed some folks who DO care what "color" (whatever that means) the suspects are, otherwise, they wouldn't have used the term "foreign-looking" or other synonyms in their posts/comments over the past couple of days.

I expect that these same folks who were pointing a finger @ "foreign" looking (i.e. not "white") people will be eating crow right about now, especially if these two men in the recently released footage turn out to be the perpetrators.

This is one of those things, where if you know these two, you know immediately that they are the ones in the photos...It's a gut feeling people are going to get.

I agree. I feel for their family and friends, not a good place to be in right now.

The pants look to be desert tan BDU's. Battle dress uniform fatigues worn by our military and also available online and Army/Navy Stores. Pockets on the sides of the leg and elastic drawstring around the ankle.

Photo earlier had the guy with the brown jacket, white Converse and same BDU's.

My husband has a pair of these, I believe from Old Navy, from last year or the year before, elastics on the bottom and all. (I don't see the elastic-bottomed ones on Old Navy web site now or else I'd link to them.) There's nothing too special about the pants IMO. reading into them that they are some kind of military fatigues is going to the extreme.

So now I am wondering...

Is what they are wearing...their normal attire? They look like typical college students. Are they? Or is a disguise? They might still be college-aged, but perhaps they dress weirder on a daily basis and wanted to make sure they blended in.

If the FBI does not know WHO they are, then they cannot say if they are Italian, Hispanic, Bi-racial, White, Middle Eastern...THEY DO NOT KNOW WHO THEY ARE!

There are IMO people too sensitive and people too quick to want it one way or the other. We were slaughtered by Middle Easterners before, and by a hometown types.

They cannot know their ethnicity.

Look at the 9-11 Terrorists again. Some of them could have been mistaken for any nationality. So, why "guess"....just what we do not like the media to do?

Perhaps some people will get satisfaction from that, but honestly, for me the satisfaction will come from the apprehension of these monsters, regardless of what the color of their skin is.

You have a valid point and it is unfortunate that people were speculating about innocent bystanders. I don't like that either. But it's unfortunately a knee jerk reaction I think.

19 out of the 19 World Trade Center bombers were foreign.
That is not to say these guys are. The fact is, we don't know! ^
We've had home-grown terrorist and the mostly deadly terrorist attack in our history was foreign.

No matter who carried out this "mission" they needed to blend in. Whether they are Amish farm kids or Jihadists, they needed to move through that crowd and through the watching eyes of security without calling attention to themselves.The 9-11 Terrorists did the same...remember Mohammed Atta looking so preppy checking in for the flight?
