Boston Police PIO says the 3rd explosion at JFK Library was due to an unrelated fire, NOT related to explosions near marathon finish line.

the JFK library is actually in Dorchester, on the waterfront. The finish line is right in the heart of the city, Copley Square area where the main public library is.

If I'm hearing the WBZ reporter correctly, the library had an electrical fire earlier in the day which caused a couple of events to be canceled. Then they're saying an explosion later on, after 4:00. But it sounds like it's not clear if there was a later event or not.

just heard the same statement on live tv....fire at library was mechanical in nature, not related to bombs

Fire was this morning and unrelated, but again the commissioner stated that there was an explosion at the library later that WAS related.

Prayers to all of those affected by this.
My brother just got home from Boston this afternoon. My sister was supposed to be running in that marathon but had to have surgery so she couldn't. I thank God she didn't because my whole family would've been there!

This is so heart breaking... Why oh why do people hurt others who have done NOTHING to them???

Yeah, this is new info that's just coming in now. Apparently they're backing off on the later explosion.

There was an electrical fire and it was fairly serious.

I presume ATF had to show up to examine the site and make sure it wasn't related.
