This photo shows the finish line and location of the first bomb at 3:36:30 into the race, approximately 33 minutes before the explosion. At the bottom of the picture, you'll see Krystle Campbell and her friend Karen Rand. This is the nearest before-blast photo I've seen.

Looking at the density of the crowd and the time it would take to move through it, I'm inclined to believe that at this point the bomb is already planted, or perhaps the bomber is in the scene. I expect other victims are in the scene as well though I've not yet identified them.

got it to work!

and there's a young Asian descent person standing right in front of them! :(

Is her friend carrying a blue and white backpack or shoulder bag?

Yes, you can see the same bag in the crime scene photos after the bomb. :( how horrible

if you see the lightpost on the right side of the photo and follow the white line in the road, does anyone think that could possibly be the backpack they've posted about?

WARNING PHOTO MAY CONTAIN GRAPHIC IMAGES - I can not make out anything graphic as police and fire are covering where most of the people are but they may be and I just haven't looked at it closely enough so warning just in case. Don't click if you don't want to see or just stay focused on the right side of the image.

I would turn this photo in as a tip. It may be what they are looking for.

Have we ever heard anymore info on the Penski truck carrying medical supplies that was turned away?

And directly in front of them there appears to be a male of possible Asian descent. Wearing glasses? If I'm looking at it correctly.

The injuries that Krystle and her friend sustained were to the backs of their legs so based on that photo, the bomb was likely placed in that area behind them that looks like there in no one standing, by the lady in the black/dark with sunglasses and in front of the lady in the brown next the guy with the ball cap.

About 10 feet behind them, a man with a black baseball hat/maroon shirt is standing with a black backpack, looking away from the race.

In the after scene photos it looked to me like Krystie was blown into the barrier railing, suggesting the blast may have come from behind her.

There appears to be a little girl in pink (being held) and a little boy behind her, beside the woman in a grey/black striped shirt holding a big black purse. I think I saw the purse in another picture somewhere. I wonder if that is Martin's family and if he was in front of them? They may have shifted closer to Krystle as the crowd moved.

I agree. There is a lot of pedestrian traffic behind them and between them and building. Might be possible that the bomber walked as a pedestrian, paused as if to stand with the crowd there and watch the finish line and casually laid the backpack on the ground. Then walked away. Just thinking, not saying that was what happened.

Good find. (edited out an observation that is probably incorrect)

ETA: I see that http://www.wtnh.com/dpps/news/national/chinese-national-killed-in-boston_5978600 is identifying the deceased Chinese student as female. There are two females that appear to possibly be of asian descent next to the male.

I imagine LE already has this photo, but to be on the safe side, maybe send it in? Especially pointing out the dude in the black backpack.

What is the gray thing just behind the blue and white back pack? I can't make out if it's someone bending over or what?

Which photo are people thinking was possibly photoshopped? (Showing a dead person?)

Is that the same and only person looking right at the camera?

link please?
I am trying hard to keep up with this fast moving thread. TIA!

I can't link it X_files I'm sorry. It's far to graphic to post a link.

It's is a picture located on live leak. You can google that with the search term boston bombings and locate it.

It's a picture that is extremely graphic. Horrific injuries. So horrific it's hard to tell exactly what you are looking at initially.
