SPRINGFIELD, MASS (WGGB) An explosion in downtown Springfield has sent several people to the hospital.
The blast happened around 5:30 p.m. on Worthington Street between Chestnut Street and Spring Street. It originally started as a gas leak, so crews from the gas company as well as police and firefighters were on-scene when the explosion occurred.
