That makes a lot more sense, so thank you for clearing it up. Yes, this case is extremely popular on social media, but how is that significant? Social media tells you what's popular now but it says nothing for the longevity of something. There are cases on WS, which is part of social media, that were receiving hundreds of posts a day, and even got their own forum in some occasions, and they are now obsolete. Will there still be a forum about this case in 15 years (JonBenet) or will it just be one topic (Scott Peterson)?
I also don't think this trial is notable simply because it generated massive talk on social media. It's notable because it was the first trial to do so.
