Family Sues To Get Back Dog Lost In Katrina

Fact of the matter is, some people will sue for anything. i am a big time animal lover, but come on , it was an act of nature, why dont they just go out and get a job. oh, i know why, some people just dont think they have to work!!!!!!!!!

You shall not see your kinsman's ox or sheep driven astray
without showing concern about it;
see to it that it is returned to your kinsman.
If this kinsman does not live near you,
or you do not know who he may be,
take it to your own place and keep it with you until he claims it;
then give it back to him.
Deuteronomy 22:1-2

Who lost their ox??? :confused:

Just teasing!! Thread's been getting a little heavy. Needs to be some hand-slapping on both sides of this story.

Sadiemae, Thanks for posting that. Raised as a hard-core Baptist, but don't remember ever hearing or reading that passage before!!

I was unfamiliar with that bible verse, so went and read it in my own. Just beautiful. The Golden Rule in action there, even though that was the Old Testament.

So much of the Bible can be applied to modern day situations. Guess it goes to show, times may change, but the right thing to do doesn't ever change. It's the best book written to live by...JMO.

What amazes me, this family who possibly lost everything or alot of things in a hurricane has the money to pay a lawyer for a lawsuit over a dog?

Kudos to the family that adopted him for caring enough to do it in the first place and double kudos to them for giving him up when I'm sure they didn't want to. Let's just hope the hurricane family had the decency to say "thank you" and "we're sorry for everyone involved."
Is this the same family that spent over $1000 on vet bills to fix the dog's health problems? The least the previous owner could do is try to reimburse them. The dog wouldn't even be alive if not for their generosity.

I couldn't find anything about that in this case.
