In 1983, a family with a 3-year-old daughter were preparing to move, and the wife took the daughter and left ahead of her husband, and just disappeared. Apparently, the daughter did not know anything about this, until authorites showed up and told her that she had not been using her real name or identity for 42 years. Because kidnapping has no statute of limitations in this area, the mother is going to be charged.
I'm going to say that there's a lot of chatter about whether the mother may have had some very good reasons for taking her daughter and going into hiding. If that is the case, we'll probably find out eventually.
